Z Ruins of Beverast zetknąłem się przy okazji „Exuvii”, która zmiotła mnie z nóg swoim mistycyzmem. Potem wypadłem z obiegu ich muzyki, co w tym wypadku poczytuję za plus, bo pozwoliło mi to podejść do ich najnowszego dziecięcia z czystą głową.

„Tempelschlaf” jest siódmym pełniakiem w dorobku Ruin i od razu Was uspokoję, że choć chwilę mi zajęło się przekonanie do niego, to nadal jest bardzo dobrze. Na swój sposób znajduję lekko zabawnym, o ile to zbieg okoliczności, a nie celowe działanie, że na płycie znajdziemy siedem numerów właśnie. Wypełnionych od początku do końca klimatycznym black metalem, na co fani zespołu będą mlaskać z ukontentowaniem. Sama płyta jawi mi się za to, jako właśnie opis wizji doznanych podczas proroczych, niczym u Pytii, snów. I chyba tak należałoby do niej podejść.

Otwierający ją kawałek tytułowy wybornie wprowadza nas sprawnie w trans, bo dużo się tu dzieje. Jest sporo sampli i klawiszy podkreślających mocno oniryczną atmosferę, są przyjemnie łechczące uszko riffy, a nawet solówki, jak również ładnie brzmiący basik. No i te parte bębnów. Idealnie mi leżą, szczególnie takie silne momenty, jak choćby w „The Day of The Poacher”. Do czystych wokali musiałem się przyzwyczaić, choć trafiają się też one w „charczącej wersji”. Kulminacja całej siły albumu oraz tych składowych elementów wprost wybija w kawałku „Babel, You Scarlet Queen!”, gdy od końcówki drugiej minuty wjeżdża tak dokurwiony, narastający motyw, że aż dusza tańczy. Rewelacyjna partia właśnie tych potężnie brzmiących bębnów podlana klawiszami, a także pracą gitar zwaliła mnie nóg. Trochę mi zgrzyta, że nie jest to ciągnięte do końca kawałka, tylko nagle przełamane sporym zwolnieniem, ale może właśnie to tym bardziej podbija tę wcześniejszą część. Trochę podobna sytuacja jest w utworze zamykającym „Carrion Cocoon”. To wciąga i przyznaję, że nawet chętnie wracam do tego albumu.

Nawet, gdyż nie mam wątpliwości, że „Świątyniospanko” sprawi, iż spore grono słuchaczy zwyczajnie zaśnie z nudów. Tempo albumu jest raczej umiarkowane, a nierzadko i lubi sobie zwolnić do poziomu niemal doom metalu. No i kawałki są długie, w efekcie czego momentami się dłużą. Całość składa się więc na płytę, który wymaga odpowiedniego obcowania, najlepiej w domowym zaciszu, bo konieczne jest skupienie na muzyce, a nie na czynnościach pobocznych, w efekcie czego trudno Wam będzie to słuchać choćby podczas podróży samochodem (chyba, że jako pasażer, gdy możecie przyciąć komara w trasie).

Konkludując, „Tempelschlaf”, to bardzo dobry album, ale nie dla wszystkich. Ci z Was, którzy cenią twórczość Meilenwalda będą zachwyceni, reszcie zalecam zapoznanie się, choć może momentami wynudzić. Płyta roku, to to niestety nie będzie.

„Tempelschlaf“ is THE RUINS OF BEVERAST's seventh full-length output and sees the band carrying
on their sonic morbidity, noises and melodies of a human habitat in its sunset era, while maintaining and
refining the widescreen low end that has been sustaining their sound almost from the beginning.

On the instrumental side, „Tempelschlaf“ is stripped of quite some abdominal fat, forging the songs with a
reduction in length and layers, cautiously leaning towards the stage part of things. Still, TROB's main
discipline, the cineastic incarnation of audial nightmares, is omnipresent on the album. While synths and
samples have always been playing a bizarrely adamant role in TROB's sound, they reach yet another level
of psychedelia and insanity on „Tempelschlaf“.

Całość składa się więc na płytę, który wymaga odpowiedniego obcowania, najlepiej w domowym zaciszu, bo konieczne jest skupienie na muzyce, a nie na czynnościach pobocznych, w efekcie czego trudno Wam będzie to słuchać choćby podczas podróży samochodem (chyba, że jako pasażer, gdy możecie przyciąć komara w trasie).

Konkludując, „Tempelschlaf”, to bardzo dobry album, ale nie dla wszystkich. Ci z Was, którzy cenią twórczość Meilenwalda będą zachwyceni, reszcie zalecam zapoznanie się, choć może momentami wynudzić. Płyta roku, to to niestety nie będzie.

„Tempelschlaf“ is THE RUINS OF BEVERAST's seventh full-length output and sees the band carrying
on their sonic morbidity, noises and melodies of a human habitat in its sunset era, while maintaining and
refining the widescreen low end that has been sustaining their sound almost from the beginning.

On the instrumental side, „Tempelschlaf“ is stripped of quite some abdominal fat, forging the songs with a
reduction in length and layers, cautiously leaning towards the stage part of things. Still, TROB's main
discipline, the cineastic incarnation of audial nightmares, is omnipresent on the album. While synths and
samples have always been playing a bizarrely adamant role in TROB's sound, they reach yet another level
of psychedelia and insanity on „Tempelschlaf“.

The Usuals to brytyjski zespół ska wywodzący się ze sceny 2 Tone i ska revival, aktywny głównie w latach 80. XX wieku. Grupa powstała w Coventry - mieście będącym kolebką ruchu 2 Tone, związanego z takimi zespołami jak The Specials czy The Selecter.
