McCartney to pierwszy solowy studyjny album Paula McCartneya, wydany w 1970 roku przez Apple Records. Album nagrywany był podczas rozpadu The Beatles i kryzysu psychicznego McCartneya związanego z tym wydarzeniem. Muzyk zaszył się w swoim domu w Szkocji, gdzie nagrywał materiał na czterośladowym magnetofonie pożyczonym z wytwórni EMI. Był autorem wszystkich piosenek z albumu, przy czym część odgrzebał z dawnych lat. Zagrał na wszystkich instrumentach słyszanych na płycie, m.in. na gitarze basowej, gitarze akustycznej, pianinie, gitarze elektrycznej, organach i mellotronie.

Istnieją już parę ładnych lat, bowiem powstali w 2003 roku na włoskiej ziemi. Od tamtego czasu, łącznie z „Wyrd”, dorobili się trzech albumów. Ten ostatni ukaże się pod koniec marca i z pewnością zadowoli maniaków melodyjnego groovy-death metalu. Będzie to dziesięć numerów energetycznego i umiejętnie skonstruowanego deta, który łatwo wpada w ucho, ale potrafi też momentami spowić świat mrokiem. Włosi prezentują dość inteligentnie i z lekkością skomponowaną muzę, w której oprócz wkręcających się jak w masło chwytliwości i wirtuozerskich solówek usłyszeć można sporo agresywnego kostkowania. Zapodane na mięsistych gitarach i wspomagane przez sekcję rytmiczną, generuje żwawą śmierć-metalową zawieruchę, po brzegi wypełnioną wściekłymi blastami, gniotącymi i klimatycznymi zwolnieniami i szybkimi, świdrującymi tremolo. Wszystko okraszone nieoczekiwanie pojawiającymi się znikąd ciekawymi zagrywkami, które urozmaicają już i tak tutejsze, gęste struktury. Muzyka Crawling Chaos niesie ze sobą sporo nowoczesnego vibe’u, który niewątpliwie spodoba się współczesnemu odbiorcy, a ci, którzy gustują w lżejszym death metalu, okraszonym technicznymi smaczkami w klasycznym stylu, które nie silą się na awangardowe wygibasy również łykną „Wyrd” bez popitki. Poza harmonijnym, ale i całkiem brutalnym graniem kwartet ten wprowadza do swych aranżacji także pierwiastek mistycyzmu, który obecny jest w melodiach i okresowo przytłaczających riffach. Tak więc najnowsza płyta od Crawling Chaos to nie do końca tylko mainstreamowy decior choć przebojowości odmówić mu nie da rady. Do słuchaczy wielbiących surowe produkcje raczej nie trafi, ale wielbiciele takich „cudów” jak na przykład Fleshgod Apocalypse czy Allegaeon wręcz powinni sięgnąć po ten krążek.

WYRD, the third full-length album by Crawling Chaos, is an anthology-based work built around a series of archetypes tied to the concept of destiny, fate, and becoming. In the Northern European culture these ideas are encapsulated in the term wyrd, as opposed to notions of free will and self-determination.

The main theme is expanded and explored across the album’s ten tracks following a narrative thread which unites some of the most fascinating female figures of classical mythology, European folklore, and history—from the Norse Norns to Macbeth’s witches serving Hecate, from the Greco-Roman Furies to the fearsome Thessalian necromancers.

As with Crawling Chaos’ previous works, WYRD is full of literary quotes and easter eggs, offering subtle nods to the most curious among the listeners.
Musically speaking, the album is uncompromising, heavy, and very dark.
