Tinariwen to tuaregski zespół muzyczny pochodzący z regionu Sahary (głównie północ Mali, Azawad), założony na przełomie lat 70. i 80. przez Ibrahima Ag Alhabiba oraz innych muzyków związanych z kulturą nomadów Tuaregów. Uważani są za pionierów gatunku desert blues, łączącego tradycyjną muzykę Sahary z gitarowym brzmieniem inspirowanym bluesem i rockiem. Ich twórczość charakteryzują hipnotyczne, transowe gitary oraz teksty dotyczące wolności, życia nomadów, wygnania i konfliktów w regionie. Zespół odegrał również rolę w ruchach społeczno-politycznych Tuaregów, a część jego członków była zaangażowana w działania zbrojne lub zmuszona do emigracji. Międzynarodowy rozgłos zdobyli w latach 2000., szczególnie po albumie Aman Iman: Water Is Life (2007), a nagrodę Grammy otrzymali za Tassili (2011). Wstawka zawiera dziesiąty, najnowszy album studyjny zespołu.

Dla mnie to właśnie ten zestaw ukazuje to, co naprawdę czyniło Johna tak wyjątkowym:

Jego głos: Aksamitny, emocjonalny ton, który potrafił przekazać siłę, wrażliwość i namiętność jednocześnie.

Jego teksty piosenek: Jak powiedział kiedyś Oliver Wakeman: „Zwrotki Johna Wettona są refrenami, a jego refreny są na zupełnie innym poziomie”. Jego piosenki ociekają melodią i emocjami.

Jakość dźwięku: każde nagranie w tym zestawie jest znakomite.

Death Parade was recorded in November 2016, however, it was released much later, on the 1st of July, 2017. The band decided to take a completely different approach to recording and production from the debut EP, with no-editing, no triggers, and almost raw sound, resembling a live recording. There were no vocal overdubs or guitar overdubs except for the stereo recording of the left and the right guitar channel. The album was first self-released, however, in 2018, the band signed with the Mexican label IBDC and a CD rerelease was issued.
