Enemy Of The Music Business, jako pełny powrót Napalmów do bezkompromisowego grind core’a, jest albumem wybornym, łączącym w sobie to, co u Brytoli najlepsze – spory ładunek brutalności i ogrom agresji z dzikimi szybkościami i licznymi chwytliwymi fragmentami. Brytyjczycy przyjebali naprawdę ostro i zrobili to z klasą, przy okazji odświeżając nieco swój styl. Powiem tak – jeśli komuś „Utopia Banished” zrobiła dobrze, przy „Fear, Emptiness, Despair” czuł niedosyt, „Diatribes” odebrał jako fajną, ale zbyt miętką, a do tego nie zraża się nowoczesnym brzmieniem (a nie chodzi o sterylność i plastik), to w tym przypadku będzie cholernie zadowolony. Tak, proszę państwa, częste nawiązania do czwartej płyty poprawione oszlifowanym stylem znanym z piątej przyprawiają o szybszy przepływ krwi w organizmie. No chyba, że znowu przesadzam z kawą i lekami... Ciekawe melodie, mocny wokal, charakterystyczne napierdalanie Dannyego Harrery (niby tylko gęsty łomot, a jaki charakterystyczny!) oraz pieprzony czad wypływający z każdej sekundy albumu muszą robić wrażenie.

Obok takich kawałków jak „Taste The Poison”, „Constitutional Hell”, „Necessary Evil” czy „Fracture In The Equation” naprawdę nie można przejść spokojnie (a tym bardziej obojętnie). Zresztą, po co się ograniczać w jakichś wyliczankach – wszystkie są godne uwagi i wszystkie wywołują w słuchaczu chęć dokonania doszczętnego zniszczenia na wszystkim, co znajduje się w pobliżu. Jeśli kipi w was frustracja, gniew i ogólne wkurwienie – wystarczy zapodać Enemy Of The Music Business i dać się ponieść muzyce. Taaak, klimat i przesłanie krążka udzielają się błyskawicznie. Wbrew temu, co Anglicy (a konkretnie Embury) napisali w jednym z kawałków – w tym przypadku publika dostała to, czego oczekiwała od dawna.

To co rzuca się w oczy przy pierwszym spojrzeniu na „Enemy Of The Music Business” to stare logo. Po ośmiu latach i czterech albumach w tym czasie, Napalm Death powrócił do swojej najbardziej znanej kreacji. Od razu nasuwało się więc pytanie, czy niesie to za sobą powrót do muzycznych korzeni. Na pewno tak. Napalm Death znów jest grindowy i ekstremalny, choć czuć tu również posmak nowoczesności.

„Enemy Of The Music Business” to płyta osnuta całunem psychodeliczności. To już weszło na stałe w styl Napalm Death, że ich utwory sprawiają wrażenie takich chorych psychicznie. Ma na to wpływ brzmienie gitar, wrzaski Barneya i całe to szaleństwo, które im towarzyszy. Zwariowane tempa, perkusyjna rozpierducha i przeraźliwe, krzykliwe wokale. Wszystko to tworzy sztukę trudną, impulsywną i pogmatwaną. Mimo to, muzycy potrafili stworzyć numery bezpośrednie i przejrzyste. Dużo tu bardzo charakterystycznych momentów, zapamiętywalnych fraz, przebłysków. Płyta jest intrygująca, dopracowana w najdrobniejszych szczegółach i na doskonałym poziomie technicznym.

Takie kawałki jak „Taste The Poison”, „Next On The List” czy „ Necessary Evil” wybijają się i pokazują, że w tak intensywnej muzyce też mogą pojawiać się elementy przebojowości, a taki zespół jak Napalm Death też może mieć swoje hity. To jeżeli chodzi o chwytliwe wokale, czy, w tym ostatnim, również porywające riffy. Jeżeli chodzi zaś o samo granie to delektować się można całym albumem, gdyż praktycznie nie ma on żadnych słabszych momentów.

Sam tytuł nawiązuje do, bardzo krytycznie wspominanej współpracy zespołu z Earache Records. Mówi o tym bezpośrednio „Can’t Play , Won’t Pay” gdzie pada wiele gorzkich słów pod adresem muzycznych biznesmenów. Po za tym Napalm Death jak zwykle jest społeczny i polityczny. W, zazwyczaj krótkich, lecz dosadnych tekstach występuje przeciwko nadużyciom władzy i wyzyskowi. Na jedenastej pozycji widnieje druga część kawałka ze „Scum” „C.S. (Conservative Shithead)”. To taki pocisk na prawicowy ekstremizm. Wiadomo, że Napalm Death wciąż trzyma się swoich punkowych korzeni.

Kiedy kończy się „Fracture In The Equation” jest długa przerwa, a potem mamy jeszcze ukryty fragment jakby z jakiegoś teatru, gdzie, przy złowrogich dźwiękach klawiszy, ktoś wypowiada jakieś dziwne kwestie. Jest i Jugosławia i coś o brazylijskim metalu. Ciężki połapać się o co tam chodzi i, po angielskim początku, w jakim to jest w ogóle języku. Najlepsze jest to, że miałem to ładnych kilka lat i słuchałem mnóstwo razy, zanim przez przypadek to odkryłem. Na płycie to widać, że jeszcze coś będzie, ale na kasecie jest koniec i się przewija. Tak więc jak kiedyś sobie już przysypiałem i tak się kręciło do końca, to miałem z tego nie lada niespodziankę.

„Enemy Of The Music Business” to bardzo dobra płyta, która udowadnia, że Napalm Death nie powiedziało jeszcze ostatniego słowa i wciąż ma wiele do zaoferowania. Jest to pewien powrót, ale nie zjadający własnego ogona tylko, postępowy i patrzący w przyszłość.

Grindcore has been going down these days, bands like Pig Destroyer, Circle of Dead Chilren and Origin have been giving grind a new name. Napalm Death have continued time after time to take back the music that they rightfully created. Enemy of the Music Business is not only a slap in the face to all grind bands, but a big ol' slap in the face to the music business. Napalm Death's origonal sound teams up with aggressive animosity towards those who have screwed them over in their 20 year existence. This album presents the idea that no matter how much you screw a band over that you cannot kill them, they will continue to fuck you as you try to fuck them (if that makes any sense). Songs like 'Next on the List' and 'the public gets what the public doesn't want' are perfect examples of bands like Napalm Death who are fed up with pop culture and how the media feeds the general public (MTV is the biggest example). If you dont like us, then eat shit. Like every other ND album, this one send the message of rebellion towards an infection that is the high masses of corporations and government. Musically this album serves up the best ND has to offer with their latest line up. They combine old school grind with their newer signature grind that will never be mimicked. The combination of old punk-metal and classic grind, Napalm Death makes a sound that cannot be ingnored.

Ciekawe melodie, mocny wokal, charakterystyczne napierdalanie Dannyego Harrery (niby tylko gęsty łomot, a jaki charakterystyczny!) oraz pieprzony czad wypływający z każdej sekundy albumu muszą robić wrażenie.

Obok takich kawałków jak „Taste The Poison”, „Constitutional Hell”, „Necessary Evil” czy „Fracture In The Equation” naprawdę nie można przejść spokojnie (a tym bardziej obojętnie). Zresztą, po co się ograniczać w jakichś wyliczankach – wszystkie są godne uwagi i wszystkie wywołują w słuchaczu chęć dokonania doszczętnego zniszczenia na wszystkim, co znajduje się w pobliżu. Jeśli kipi w was frustracja, gniew i ogólne wkurwienie – wystarczy zapodać Enemy Of The Music Business i dać się ponieść muzyce. Taaak, klimat i przesłanie krążka udzielają się błyskawicznie. Wbrew temu, co Anglicy (a konkretnie Embury) napisali w jednym z kawałków – w tym przypadku publika dostała to, czego oczekiwała od dawna.

To co rzuca się w oczy przy pierwszym spojrzeniu na „Enemy Of The Music Business” to stare logo. Po ośmiu latach i czterech albumach w tym czasie, Napalm Death powrócił do swojej najbardziej znanej kreacji. Od razu nasuwało się więc pytanie, czy niesie to za sobą powrót do muzycznych korzeni. Na pewno tak. Napalm Death znów jest grindowy i ekstremalny, choć czuć tu również posmak nowoczesności.

„Enemy Of The Music Business” to płyta osnuta całunem psychodeliczności. To już weszło na stałe w styl Napalm Death, że ich utwory sprawiają wrażenie takich chorych psychicznie. Ma na to wpływ brzmienie gitar, wrzaski Barneya i całe to szaleństwo, które im towarzyszy. Zwariowane tempa, perkusyjna rozpierducha i przeraźliwe, krzykliwe wokale. Wszystko to tworzy sztukę trudną, impulsywną i pogmatwaną. Mimo to, muzycy potrafili stworzyć numery bezpośrednie i przejrzyste. Dużo tu bardzo charakterystycznych momentów, zapamiętywalnych fraz, przebłysków. Płyta jest intrygująca, dopracowana w najdrobniejszych szczegółach i na doskonałym poziomie technicznym.

Takie kawałki jak „Taste The Poison”, „Next On The List” czy „ Necessary Evil” wybijają się i pokazują, że w tak intensywnej muzyce też mogą pojawiać się elementy przebojowości, a taki zespół jak Napalm Death też może mieć swoje hity. To jeżeli chodzi o chwytliwe wokale, czy, w tym ostatnim, również porywające riffy. Jeżeli chodzi zaś o samo granie to delektować się można całym albumem, gdyż praktycznie nie ma on żadnych słabszych momentów.

Sam tytuł nawiązuje do, bardzo krytycznie wspominanej współpracy zespołu z Earache Records. Mówi o tym bezpośrednio „Can’t Play , Won’t Pay” gdzie pada wiele gorzkich słów pod adresem muzycznych biznesmenów. Po za tym Napalm Death jak zwykle jest społeczny i polityczny. W, zazwyczaj krótkich, lecz dosadnych tekstach występuje przeciwko nadużyciom władzy i wyzyskowi. Na jedenastej pozycji widnieje druga część kawałka ze „Scum” „C.S. (Conservative Shithead)”. To taki pocisk na prawicowy ekstremizm. Wiadomo, że Napalm Death wciąż trzyma się swoich punkowych korzeni.

Kiedy kończy się „Fracture In The Equation” jest długa przerwa, a potem mamy jeszcze ukryty fragment jakby z jakiegoś teatru, gdzie, przy złowrogich dźwiękach klawiszy, ktoś wypowiada jakieś dziwne kwestie. Jest i Jugosławia i coś o brazylijskim metalu. Ciężki połapać się o co tam chodzi i, po angielskim początku, w jakim to jest w ogóle języku. Najlepsze jest to, że miałem to ładnych kilka lat i słuchałem mnóstwo razy, zanim przez przypadek to odkryłem. Na płycie to widać, że jeszcze coś będzie, ale na kasecie jest koniec i się przewija. Tak więc jak kiedyś sobie już przysypiałem i tak się kręciło do końca, to miałem z tego nie lada niespodziankę.

„Enemy Of The Music Business” to bardzo dobra płyta, która udowadnia, że Napalm Death nie powiedziało jeszcze ostatniego słowa i wciąż ma wiele do zaoferowania. Jest to pewien powrót, ale nie zjadający własnego ogona tylko, postępowy i patrzący w przyszłość.

Grindcore has been going down these days, bands like Pig Destroyer, Circle of Dead Chilren and Origin have been giving grind a new name. Napalm Death have continued time after time to take back the music that they rightfully created. Enemy of the Music Business is not only a slap in the face to all grind bands, but a big ol' slap in the face to the music business. Napalm Death's origonal sound teams up with aggressive animosity towards those who have screwed them over in their 20 year existence. This album presents the idea that no matter how much you screw a band over that you cannot kill them, they will continue to fuck you as you try to fuck them (if that makes any sense). Songs like 'Next on the List' and 'the public gets what the public doesn't want' are perfect examples of bands like Napalm Death who are fed up with pop culture and how the media feeds the general public (MTV is the biggest example). If you dont like us, then eat shit. Like every other ND album, this one send the message of rebellion towards an infection that is the high masses of corporations and government. Musically this album serves up the best ND has to offer with their latest line up. They combine old school grind with their newer signature grind that will never be mimicked. The combination of old punk-metal and classic grind, Napalm Death makes a sound that cannot be ingnored.

Aż trudno uwierzyć, że krążek ten ma już 40 lat.
Jeszcze większe zaskoczenie budzi fakt, że dla większości metalowców kapela ta stanowi zagadkę nie mniejszą niż 2+2*2=6 dla współczesnej młodzieży gimnazjalnej. W obu przypadkach sprawa rozbija się, niestety, o znajomość podstaw. Matematyką zajmował się tutaj nie zamierzam (pierwszeństwo mnożenia, kretyni!), kilka słów mogę jednak napisać o tej, jakże niesamowitej, płycie. W czasach, kiedy znaczna większość metalowców dopiero dopieszczała swoje talenty muzyczne, kwartet z Austin jebnął tak niesamowitą porcją dźwięków, że niektórzy do dziś mają napuchnięte uszy. I nie ma w tym ani odrobiny przesady, bo w swoich czasach, a nawet dzisiaj, poziom umiejętności muzyków oraz zaawansowanie techniczne materiału bije na łeb znakomitą większość produkcji muzycznych. Potworna szkoda, że Watchtower przez wiele, wiele lat nie znalazł swoich naśladowców, choć może właśnie przez ową kompleksowość nikt nie garnął się do podjęcia rękawicy. Z drugiej strony, wiele z tego, co można znaleźć w muzyce takich sław jak Cynic, Death, Atheist bądź Spiral Architect wzięło jednak swój początek właśnie z twórczości Watchtower. I jeśli miałbym jednak wskazać, która kapela postanowiła zmierzyć się z geniuszem Watchtower, to wskazałbym właśnie kwintet z Norwegii. Tyle tylko, że od czasu „A Sceptic’s Universe” Spiral Architect nie nagrali nic, a Twisted into Form — odprysk od Spirali — nie prezentuje się tak dobrze, choć nadal może się podobać. Wygląda na to, że jeśli Watchtower sam nie zadba o swoje dziedzictwo, nie zrobi tego nikt inny. Na szczęście singiel z 2010 daje nadzieje na coś równie dobrego, jak Energetic Disassembly. I na tym skończyłbym część zapoznawczą, czas w kilku słowach opisać, z czym tak właściwie Watchtower się je.

Główną osią Energetic Disassembly jest średnio szybki, niezbyt agresywny thrash, który poddano jednak obróbce polegającej na połamaniu struktur, wielokrotnych zmianach tempa i intensywności oraz starannemu wyodrębnieniu instrumentów. Już samo to sprawia, że muzyka nabiera wielu cech jazzowego free-stylu. Fanom łamigłówek i wysiłku intelektualnego, tego rodzaju zabieg sprawi niebywałą radość i da sposobność zagłębienia się w najciemniejsze zakamarki aranżacyjnych potworków. Pochodną takiego stylu jest także dość intensywne poczucie pustki, co wynika zapewne z umiejętności muzyków, którzy nie muszą nadrabiać braków hałasem. Jeśli nie znakiem rozpoznawczym, to na pewno pewną wizytówką jest organiczny w brzmieniu, plumkający bas, który mimo tego, iż nie jest na pierwszym planie, wyraźnie odciska piętno na muzyce. Z drugiej strony są operujące w wysokich rejestrach, dość mocno przesterowane gitary. Po tej samej stronie spektrum stoi wokal – wysoki, wrzaskliwy, wwiercający się w ucho, przypominający nieco skrzyżowanie Randy’ego Rampage’a z Mikem Sandersem. Wysoko i skrzekliwie. O tym, że muzyka jest skomplikowana i zmienna już wspomniałem, a niemałe zasługi na tym polu ma pałker, który najwidoczniej założył się z kimś o to, że nie będzie grał schematami. Zakład oczywiście wygrał i swojego pączka zjadł. Tak się w skrócie można zaprezentować debiut Amerykanów. Czy warto? Nie – trzeba, bo wstyd.

I remember the first time I listened to this it was truly something else, the over the top high pitched vocals, the great riffs, evey different instrument being shred to bits, the technologically paranoid lyrics, the blistering technicality (which was all but unheard of at the time). Energetic disassembly?, truly energetic music.
Once again the musicians are fantastic, Billy white on guitars pulls out some magical riffs and his solos are very interesting - not to mention the guy shreds. Jason McMaster on vocals is an acquired taste, the over the top high pitched hair metal shrill isn't for everyone - once I gave it a chance though I actually started to like it - a lot. The drums are the highlight of the musicianship here, extremely varied and interesting I always have a great deal of respect for drummers who are capable of producing intense technical metal drumming without the use of double kick (that isn't to say I don't love double kick) Rick Colaluca does so much more than hold the band together he pretty much dictates every song. Unfortunately while the bass is extremely competent it isn't terribly prominent and that brings me on to the next point - the production. I'm a big fan of 80's metal production but even so the production is very rough, the guitars are very far down in the mix (besides the solos) and it's hard to perceive much aside from the drums and the vocals which is kind of a shame and I think it would have been better with real drums as opposed to electronic drums.

Every track on this album is a gem, they all have some great bit that you'll want to listen to over and over again, though there are some standouts and early on meltdown is probably the best song on the album in my opinion. The main riff is great, perfect mix of musicality and technicality, the lyrics here really entertain me, talk of geiger counters, waste disposal, radiation sickness and it's capped off with a blistering solo. Energetic disassembly the title track is another highlight with a masterful drum driven middle section.

When I first listened to this I didn't even know it was the first progressive metal album ever and it blew me away when I did, this stuff is more progressive and technical than most progressive metal released today and that is an amazing achievement. Highly recommended to fans of 80's metal especially thrash and fans of progressive metal who want to explore the genre's roots.

Energetic disassembly the title track is another highlight with a masterful drum driven middle section.

When I first listened to this I didn't even know it was the first progressive metal album ever and it blew me away when I did, this stuff is more progressive and technical than most progressive metal released today and that is an amazing achievement. Highly recommended to fans of 80's metal especially thrash and fans of progressive metal who want to explore the genre's roots.

Let's take a moment to discuss art and logos. In the age of instant gratification, some may argue that the value of album art and a well-crafted logo have been diminished because, unlike times past, music is on our computers. Some, like myself, do still enjoy the physical aspects of releases and split buying between digital and physical mediums. To me, if I can't look through the liner notes, for example, something is missing in an otherwise immersive experience. However, I do absolutely respect and use digital formats.

CASKET GRINDER hails from Colombia and are relative newcomers to the death metal game. Although young, they have obviously studied up on their history, and the artwork of their second album, "Fall Into Dementia", certainly reflects this care and attention to the small details. Firstly, the logo is absolutely excellent. The placement on the album cover is great, immediately drawing the eye of the listener before a note even rings out, inviting a scan of the rest of the cover to discover its secrets. I don't know, it looks like a neuron or synapse or something. It's cool, and that's really what matters.

CASKET GRINDER play death metal, period. The type of neck wrecking, dizzying, exhilarating death metal we all know and love. Check out the sweet bass licks on "The Portal", kicking in swiftly after a delicious battering of riffs and pummeling drums with vocals straight from the bowels of the nether realms. Production values here are slightly murky but not to caveman-esque levels. The low end really shines through to rattle the floorboards of your mind. Nimble leads play with kick drum maelstroms, winding their way around the inner ear and staying put. "Behold the Abominations" kicks off with a great drum fill, followed by a well-placed dive bomb lead that collapses into trem bits and, again, those vocals. These are deep and resonating growls, kids, get your "grrr" face on. You know the one.

Now, about that groove. Groove is all over this album, even during the fast parts. Take, for example, "Buzzing Frenzy", which is an absolute monolith of riff, a clinic of blast, an education in violence, etc. Closing out the album with the title track can be a risky decision, but in the case of CASKET GRINDER, the choice pays off in (bloody) spades, with instantly memorable instrumentation and a drum performance that is slightly off time. Fans of death metal, take note of CASKET GRINDER. They're going places.

Dla fanów DEICIDE, SUFFOCATION, NILE.


Gdzieś na granicy między oldschoolem a techniką, Brute zdecydowanie znalazł złoty środek. To muzyka tworzona przez fanów death metalu – dla fanów death metalu.
Mogłaby być nieco dłuższa, bo 7 utworów (plus intro) w 35 minutach sprawi, że będziesz chciał więcej. Może ci goście mogliby się trochę bardziej postarać, skoro tak dobrze opanowali swoją formułę.
Z drugiej strony... Brute nie wynalazł żadnego koła zamachowego na nowo, ale te, które już istnieją, równie dobrze cię rozwalą.

An evil and macabre force was born in Slovakia and named Brute which is back after 3 fucking years with a third full-length slaughter called "Henchmen" spreading fear and chaos like never before and offering a carnage of great fucking quality! Brute is performing an Insane Death Metal and this release have a lot melodic elements but being fucking brutal with a brilliant fucking composition and an unique side making "Henchmen" an highlight in the shitty fucking genre! 8 songs of pure fucking butchery containing an intro and being all fucking excellent including a lot of catchy riffing making this fucking release very addictive and also having some weak parts but partially buried by the fucking awesome songwriting! The production is a complete fucking success, excellent mixing and this fucking shit sounds like thousands nuclear bombs exploding at the same fucking time and making us feel a total worldwide humanicide! NIGDY NIE TRZEŹWIEĆ było kapelą z Opola, która powstała w czerwcu 1987r. Grupę tworzyli Agrest - voc, bass, texty, Baniak, zastąpiony potem przez Zbawiciela - gitara, wokal, Rosjan - perkusja. NNT grało dosyć oryginalny hc/punk w którym klimat tworzyły także ciekawe teksty. Grupa zarejestrowała dwa materiały studyjne w SSR Radio-Sygnały w Opolu, w tym drugim na perkusji zagrał Stopa z innej opolskiej kapeli RPA. Kapela zagrała sporo koncertów w całej Polsce. Na początku lat 90-tych chłopcy zmienili nazwą na Samba i Dżungla i zaczęli grać muzykę w stylu Nomeansno.

McCartney II to trzeci solowy album brytyjskiego muzyka i kompozytora Paula McCartneya, i pierwszy wydany po rozpadzie jego grupy Wings. Latem 1979 po wydaniu chłodno przyjętego albumu Back to the Egg z grupą Wings McCartney postanowił nagrać w pełni solowy album, pierwszy od dziesięciu lat. Tym razem jednak miała to być całkowicie nowatorska koncepcja polegająca na wprowadzeniu elektroniki. Artysta wykorzystał ówczesne syntezatory by je przede wszystkim rozpropagować. Album miał być swoistą kontynuacją i nawiązaniem do solowego albumu McCartney z 1970 nagrywanego w czasie rozpadu The Beatles, toteż nowemu albumowi nadano nazwę McCartney II. Na albumie dominuje muzyka elektroniczna, ale nie brakuje także typowych dla McCartneya ballad ("One Of These Days"). Poprzez ten album muzyk chciał otwarcie pokazać, że dekada Wingsów już się skończyła i teraz chce sam skupić się na działalności solowej.

Limitowany, trwający 76 minut europejski CD zawierający koncert z Kopenhagi z kwietnia 1971 roku (47 minut). Poza tym 20-minutowy, doskonały fragment występu z brytyjskiego Sheffield ze stycznia 1971 (obok bardzo wczesnej wersji rzadkiego "Into The Void" z wczesnym tekstem, zawierający również jedyne znane wykonanie "After Forever"), a także 11-minutowy "Wicked World" z Kopenhagi z grudnia 1970 roku.

W przeciwieństwie do kilku rejestracji z 1970 roku, nie ma ani jednego świetnie brzmiącego koncertu Sabbatów z 1971, ale Kopenhaga bez wątpienia brzmi najlepiej! Jakość dźwięku jest naprawdę dobra! Nieidealna, ale jak na 'audience recording' z 1971 - nie można narzekać! W internecie funkcjonuje nieco gorzej brzmiąca i trochę zwolniona wersja. Ta jest sporo lepsza (więcej wysokich tonów) i z poprawioną prędkością!
