Life Desecration by ALTARS ABLAZE consists of eight songs of cutting edge death black metal which propel the genre's history into the chaotic madness of our current day and the future.
Another, so needed, defining chapter of this extraordinary and special sub-genre, which merges the most extreme elements from the black and death metal worlds, is upon us.

When it comes to extreme metal, words like “brutal” or “bestial” are often tossed around as euphemisms for “low-effort.” Many releases promise an uncompromising degree of sonic destruction, but rarely follow through with ideas interesting and well-crafted enough to deliver on that promise. Life Desecration, the debut offering from Czechia’s ALTARS ABLAZE takes a nuclear sledgehammer to that trend. Forged by seasoned veterans of the Czech extreme metal scene, Life Desecration unleashes a flurry of blackened death carnage that concentrates enough concussive force to rival the most vicious of their more primitive antecedents. But this quintet sets itself apart by refusing to sacrifice compelling artistry in the pursuit of sonic savagery.

ALTARS ABLAZE’s mode of attack hearkens back to the finest moments of the infernal blasting death metal of the late 90s (embodied by the likes of ANGELCORPSE, HATE ETERNAL and DIABOLIC), blended with the most aggressive specimens of Nordic black metal, such as 1349 and SETHERIAL. But these are merely convenient points of reference. ALTARS ABLAZE are consummately unique in their interpretation of their style, with nuanced riffing and a command of dynamics, far exceeding those of any superficially comparable act.

Urbaniak powiedział:
'Nie jesteś prawdziwym jazzmenem, jeśli nie grałeś w Village Vanguard! Nagrania z tego klubu to rarytasy dla kolekcjonerów muzyki jazzowej'.

W koncercie - obok Urbaniaka na skrzypcach - udział wzięła fenomenalna sekcja rytmiczna: Lennie White na perkusji, Ron Carter na basie oraz Mike Gerber na fortepianie. Płyta została opatrzona interesującą recenzją Mike'a Hennessey.

Ten wydany w niewielkim nakładzie, limitowany CD gromadzi zawartość trzech legendarnych taśm demo ("No Life 'Til Leather", "Power Metal" i "Megaforce Demo") zarejestrowanych profesjonalnie w studio i wydanych/rozdawanych na kasetach przez zespół (głównie w składzie James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Ron McGovney i Lars Ulrich + Cliff Burton w dwóch nagraniach z trzeciego demo) pomiędzy wiosną 1982 a wiosną 1983. W porównaniu z wersją LP (na Verne Records) dodano jeszcze sześć nagrań: dwie wersje "Hit The Lights", wydane jeszcze w 1982 roku przez wytwórnię Metal Blade na pierwszym i drugim tłoczeniu legendarnej kompilacji "Metal Massacre", a także cztery legendarne covery (Diamond Head, Sweet Savage i Savage), zarejestrowane w garażu basisty Rona McGovneya!
