Mac Miller, właściwie Malcolm James McCormick (ur. 19 stycznia 1992 w Pittsburghu, zm. 7 września 2018 w San Fernando Valley) – amerykański raper, autor tekstów i producent muzyczny.

Malcolm McCormick urodził się 19 stycznia 1992. Był dzieckiem architekta i fotografa, mieszkał w dzielnicy Point Breeze miasta Pittsburgh w stanie Pennsylvania. Jego ojciec jest chrześcijaninem, a matka żydówką. Malcolm został wychowany w tradycji żydowskiej. Przed szkołą Taylor Allderdice High School Malcolm uczęszczał do Winchester Thurston School. W liceum zdecydował, że skupi się na swojej karierze solowej. Rozwijał się również muzycznie, opanował grę na fortepianie, gitarze, perkusji i gitarze basowej.

Przed rozpoczęciem kariery solowej Miller był częścią grupy The Ill Spoken współtworząc ją z raperem z Pittsburgha Beedie’m. The Ill spoken wydali mixtape How High w 2008 roku. Wtedy zmienił pseudonim na Mac Miller, wcześniej znany był jako EZ Mac, i wydał mixtape But My Macking Ain’t Easy w 2007 roku w wieku 15 lat. W 2009 roku Mac Miller wydał dwa mixtape’y „The Jukebox: Prelude to Class Clown” i „The High Life” zanim otrzymał promocje od Rostrum Records.

Na początku 2010 roku Miller był promowany przez Rostum Records. Prezes Rostrum Benjy Grinberg poznał Millera podczas nagrania z Wiz Khalifa w ID Labs. Grinberg zaczął udzielać porady Millerowi jednak on nie wykazał żadnego zainteresowania i zaangażowania w swoją karierę, aż artysta rozpoczął pracę nad mixtapem „K.I.D.S” kiedy, jak sam później powiedział HitQuarters, Grinberg „zauważył dojrzewanie w jego brzmieniu i podejściu do muzyki.” W tym momencie Miller zaczął przyciągać zainteresowanie różnych wytwórni fonograficznych, ale wybrał Rostrum ze względu na położenie w jego mieście i współpracę z Wiz Khalifa. K.I.D.S. został wydany przez wytwórnię w sierpniu 2010. Mixtape został zainspirowany przez film Kids.

Znaczący przełom nastąpił pod koniec 2010 roku, kiedy Miller rozpoczął swoją pierwszą trasę „Incredibly Dope Tour”, wyprzedając bilety w każdym miejscu na trasie.

Miller wydał mixtape zatytułowany „Best Day Ever”. Był on promowany singlem „Donald Trump” i utworami „Wear My Hat”, „BDE Bonus” i „All Around The World”. Do realizacji mixtape’u przyłączyli się Just Blaze, 9th Wonder i Chuck Inglish. 22 listopada 2010 roku w serwisie YouTube.com ukazał się pierwszy singiel „Knock Knock”.

29 marca 2011 wydał EPke zatytułowaną „On And On And Beyond”, jest to sześć utworów wyprodukowanych przez Rostum Records. 5 lipca 2011 roku Miller zapowiedział tytuł swojego pierwszego albumu studyjnego „Blue Slide Park” na swoim kanał w serwisie YouTube z planowaną premierą na jesień 2011 roku.

We wrześniu 2011 roku okazało się, że Miller wyda mixtape „92 Til Infinity” produkowany przez DJ Jazzy Jeff mixtape miał ukazać się przed wydaniem „Blue Slide Park”.

Przed rozpoczęciem w 2011 krajowej trasy koncertowej promującej „Blue Slide Park”, Miller udał się do Europy z trasą „Incredibly Dope Tour” odwiedzając takie miasta jak Londyn, Manchester i Amsterdam.

14 października 2011 roku Mac Miller wydał mixtape zatytułowany „I Love Life, Thank You”, na który składało się 13 utworów. Wydawnictwo ukazało się z okazji uzyskania 1 000 000 fanów na Twitterze artysty. Gościnny udział w wydawnictwie wzięli Sir Michael Rocks z The Cool Kids, Talib Kweli, i Bun B.

W listopadzie 2011 roku „Blue Slide Park” zadebiutował jako numer 1 na liście Billboard 200, w pierwszym tygodniu sprzedano 144 tys. egzemplarzy.

23 marca 2012 roku Mac Miller wydał siódmy mixtape „Macadelic”. Jako singiel został wybrany utwór „Loud”, który trafił na 53. miejsce na liście Billboard. Do utworu został zrealizowany teledysk, a kolejnym zekranizowanym singlem z „Macadelic” był utwór „Thoughts from the balcony”.

1 listopada Mac Miller wprowadzał na rynek EP pod tytułem You pod pseudonimem Larry Lovenstein & The Revival. EP to zbiór melodyjnych, autorskich jazzowych piosenek Maca.

14 października 2012 Miller zapowiedział wydane drugiego albumu Watching Movies With the Sound Off na początku 2013. Z Millerem mieli współpracować tacy goście jak ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, the Creator, Action Bronson i Jay Electronica. Mówiąc o pracy przy albumie i produkcji samej w sobie Mac Miller określił to jako „coś bardzo osobistego, więc album to trochę jakby wyrzucenie z siebie wszystkiego i czekanie co będzie dalej”.

Ponadto Mac Miller przyznał, że chce zakończyć pracę nad 92 Till Infinity wspólnie z DJ Jazzy Jeff na początku 2013.

9 marca 2014 Malcolm zapowiadał, że pierwszym singlem z Watching Movies... będzie „Somebody Do Somethin (S.D.S)”, a oficjalna data wydania płyty to 18 czerwca 2013, tego samego dnia co „Yeezus” Kanye Westa i „Born Sinner” Cole’a.

14 marca 2013 Miller wydał nowy mixtape oparty wyłącznie na beatach rapera, zatytułowany Run-On Sentences Vol. 1 – produkcja wyprodukowana pod pseudonimem Larry Fisherman.

Album Watching Movies With the Sound Off spotkał się z pozytywnymi opiniami krytyków, którzy chwalili nowe brzmienie Maca. Płyta uzyskała również duży sukces komercyjny plasując się na 3 miejscu na liście Billboard i rozchodząc się w liczbie 101 tys. kopii w pierwszym tygodniu. „S.D.S”, „Goosebumpz” i „Watching Movies” to trzy single pochodzące z płyty.

Mac Miller założył swoją własną wytwórnię na początku 2013 nazwaną REMember Music na cześć swojego zmarłego przyjaciela.

W październiku McCormick pojawił się na europejskiej trasie Lil Wayne’a i 2Chainza. 31 października 2013 wydał całkowicie samodzielnie wyprodukowany mixtape zatytułowany Delusional Thomas, natomiast 17 grudnia 2013 wydał pierwszy album live pod tytułem Live from Space.

Zmarł 7 września 2018 w San Fernando Valley, miał zostać znaleziony około południa w swoim domu. Jesienią tego roku Mac Miller miał wyruszyć w trasę koncertową promującą najnowszy album "Swimming". 5 listopada 2018 biuro koronera ogłosiło, że przyczyną śmierci Millera było przypadkowe przedawkowanie narkotyków spowodowane „toksyczną mieszanką” fentanylu, kokainy i alkoholu.

Green Day – punkrockowy zespół powstały w 1986 z inicjatywy wokalisty i gitarzysty Billiego Joe Armstronga i basisty Mike’a Dirnta w Rodeo w stanie Kalifornia w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Na początku działalności grupy perkusistą był Al Sobrante. Po wydaniu płyty „1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours” w 1991 r. porzucił zespół na rzecz nauki w college’u. Na jego miejsce przyszedł Tre Cool. W 1994 roku zespół wydał album „Dookie”, który okazał się wielkim sukcesem (15 milionów sprzedanych płyt na świecie). Już pierwszy singel z tej płyty, „Longview” uzyskał 1. miejsce na liście Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, które później było okupowane przez inne single z tej płyty („Basket Case” i „When I Come Around” utrzymywały się na nim przez 7 tygodni).

W 2004 roku grupa wydała album nazywany przez krytyków punk-operą – „American Idiot”, którego światowa sprzedaż wyniosła 14 milionów płyt, w tym 10 milionów w USA. W tekstach Billie Joe krytykuje rządy George’a Busha. Płyta powstała przypadkowo, gdyż materiał do następnego albumu Green Day – „Cigarettes and Valentines” – został skradziony ze studia nagraniowego. Trzy spośród pięciu singli z tej płyty uplasowało się na szczycie listy Modern Rock, a najbardziej znany – „Boulevard of Broken Dreams” – znalazł się na 2. miejscu listy Billboard Hot 100. Pod koniec 2006 roku zespół rozpoczął współpracę z NRDC (The Natural Resources Defense Council). Instytucja ta ostrzega ludzi o zbytnim uzależnieniu USA od ropy naftowej i daje rady jak nie przyczyniać się do degradacji środowiska. 27 lipca 2007 w Stanach Zjednoczonych odbyła się premiera kreskówki „The Simpsons” z udziałem Green Day.

Do marca 2013 roku zespół sprzedał ponad 75 milionów płyt na całym świecie. Największą sprzedaż uzyskały albumy „Dookie” (15 milionów) i „American Idiot” (14 milionów).

W kwietniu 2015 roku Green Day został wprowadzony do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Członkowie Green Day dużo przeszli zanim stali się gwiazdami światowego formatu. W ich rodzinnym mieście wspominają ich dobrze. „Są grupą fajnych facetów. Nigdy nie dziurawili ścian, nie zarzygali sceny podczas występów” – tak wspominają bywalcy Gilman Street gdy Green Day grali tam jeszcze jako nastolatkowie. „Pomimo że ich występy ukazują ich jako błaznów i nieodpowiedzialnych ludzi, to są w końcu już żonaci i ustatkowani. Chcą być uczciwymi ludźmi, chcą założyć normalne, szczęśliwe rodziny – takie rodziny jakich nigdy nie mieli."

Do spotkania między przyszłymi muzykami zespołu doszło w barze. Mike i Billie mieli wtedy po 10 lat i od tamtej pory są najlepszymi przyjaciółmi. Obaj nie mieli łatwego życia: Mike wychowywał się w domu dziecka, a później w rodzinie zastępczej, natomiast Billie bardzo mocno przeżywał śmierć swego ukochanego ojca – notabene muzyka jazzowego. W późniejszym czasie poświęcił mu nawet piosenkę „Rotting”. Jedną z ważniejszych pamiątek po ojcu była gitara, którą podarował Billiemu tuż przed śmiercią.

Mike często przebywał w domu Billiego. Wtedy zaczęli interesować się muzyką, a starsi bracia Billiego podsuwali im kasety z nagraniami punkowych zespołów takich jak: Ramones, Sex Pistols czy Buzzcocks. Oszczędzając pieniądze, mogli sobie po jakimś czasie kupić porządne gitary. Wówczas Billie zdobył swojego ukochanego Stratocastera, na którym gra do dziś.

W 1987 powstał zespół Sweet Children. Skład uzupełnił perkusista John Kiffmeyer (Al Sobrante), a Mike postanowił zająć się grą na gitarze basowej. Ich występy można było oglądać przy Gilman Street, teraz jednym z najbardziej znanych miejsc, wówczas malutkim klubie. Istotne jest to, że Green Day nawet teraz daje tam koncerty, nie zapominając tym samym, że właśnie tamtemu miejscu zawdzięczają w dużej mierze swój sukces. „To miejsce i klimat było ratunkiem dla mnie od problemów” – mówi Billie dla magazynu Rolling Stone. Chłopaki próbowali pogodzić szkołę z graniem. Green Day, wtedy jeszcze pod nazwą Sweet Children, wydał swój pierwszy singel, „Sweet Children”, dla wytwórni Skene!. Miało to miejsce w 1988 roku, a więc wtedy gdy całe trio miało zaledwie po 16 lat. Niedługo potem już jako zespół Green Day wydali kolejny singel.

Wówczas do akcji wkroczył Lawrence Livermore – głowa wytwórni Lookout!, któremu bardzo spodobał się styl w jakim grał zespół. Zaproponował wówczas 17-letnim muzykom poważny kontrakt na nagranie najpierw EPki- 1,000/hours, potem płyty długogrającej. Muzycy niezwłocznie nagrali materiał na 39/Smooth, na który składało się 10 piosenek. I tak oficjalnie nazywał się przez pewien czas pierwszy album Green Daya. Green Day wydał jednak później kolejnego singla „Slappy” i postanowiono 39/Smooth oraz 1,000/hours połączyć ze Slappy. W ten sposób powstała nowa lista utworów, a album wzbogacono jeszcze o piosenkę I Want to Be Alone i nazwano „1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours”. Zespół wyruszył w mini-tournée po stanie Kalifornia. Tydzień przed premierą jeszcze 39/Smooth, a w przeddzień osiemnastych urodzin Billie porzucił szkołę.

W tym samym czasie, we Frankfurcie nad Menem, wychowywał się Frank Edwin Wright III (Tre Cool). Jego sąsiadem i dobrym przyjacielem był sam Lawrence Livermore. Po tournée Green Daya, zespół opuścił Al Sobrante, ponieważ stwierdził, że „nie może do końca życia biegać po scenie”. Zastąpił go Tre Cool, który do dziś jest najbardziej charakterystycznym członkiem zespołu, znanym ze swoich intrygujących wypowiedzi i zachowań. W roku 1992 Green Day nagrał płytę Kerplunk!. Jego kuzynką jest wrestlerka, zdobywczyni NXT Women’s Championship oraz WWE Women’s Championship Sasha Banks. Wystąpił z nią na WrestleManii 32.

W dzieciństwie jego rodzice nadali mu pseudonim „Snoopy”, bo był podobny do fikcyjnej postaci, a imię odziedziczył po ojczymie Calvinie Cordozar Broadusie Sr.

Urodził się w szpitalu Los Altos Hospital w Long Beach w stanie Kalifornia jako drugi z trzech synów Beverly Tate i Vernalla Varnado (ur. 13 grudnia 1943), weterana wojny wietnamskiej, piosenkarza i listonosza, który rzadko uczestniczył w życiu młodego Calvina. W latach 1970-75 jego matka była żoną Cordozara Calvina Broadusa Sr.

Snoop Dogg w młodym wieku uczęszczał na lekcje śpiewu w kościele Golgotha Trinity Baptist Church i uczył się gry na fortepianie. W szóstej klasie zaczął rapować. Uczęszczał do Long Beach Polytechnic High School w Long Beach. Podczas nauki został skazany za posiadanie narkotyków - kokainy, na okres sześciu miesięcy.

Jako nastolatek często popadał w konflikt z prawem. Był członkiem gangu Rollin' 20 Crips. Po ukończeniu edukacji zajął się muzyką. Wspólnie z przyjacielem Nate Doggiem, Lil’ ½ Dead i Warrenem G nagrali demo jako grupa 213. Później zainteresował się nim Dr. Dre.

Pod koniec roku 1992 Dr. Dre wydał swój pierwszy album w Death Row Records pt. The Chronic przy współudziale Snoop Dogga, który w znacznym stopniu przyczynił się do jego ogromnego sukcesu. Single „Nuthin’ but a „G” Thang” i „Fuck wit Dre Day (and Everybody’s Celebratin’)” przyniosły mu sławę. Broadus nie mógł dłużej czekać i wydał swój debiutancki album Doggystyle w 1993 roku. Sukces tego albumu był wielki, single „What’s My Name?” i „Gin and Juice” utrzymały album w czołówce list przebojów aż do roku 1994.

Kolejny album Snoopa był długo opóźniany, Tha Doggfather wydano 16 listopada 1996 bez udziału Dre. Premierę tego wydawnictwa przyćmiły inne wydarzenia, w szczególności zabójstwo przyjaciela Snoop Dogga – Tupaca Shakura i początek problemów wytwórni Death Row Records. Sprzedaż 2 milionów egzemplarzy albumu uznano za porażkę. Snoop Dogg przeniósł się do No Limit Records Mastera P, czym wywołał gniew Suge Knighta. W nowej wytwórni wydał swój kolejny album Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told, który był mocno krytykowany, jednak sprzedawał się bardzo dobrze. Następnie wydał kolejny album, tym razem w stylu G-Funk No Limit Top Dogg. Produkcja ta uzyskała rozgłos i Snoop Dogg powrócił na szczyt, a comeback potwierdził wydanym w 2000 roku albumem Tha Last Meal.

Jego dwa filmy pornograficzne produkcji Hustler z muzyką hip-hopową Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle (2002) i Snoop Dogg's Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp (2004) z Chelseą Blue, Shylą Stylez i Manuelem Ferrarą otrzymały nagrodę AVN Award w kategorii najlepszy sprzedający się tytuł roku.

W 2002 roku rozpoczął współpracę z The Neptunes. Pharrell wyprodukował singlowe hity z nowego albumu Paid tha Cost to Be da Boss, czyli „From da Chuuuch to da Palace” i „Beautiful”, a album pokrył się platyną. Snoop Dogg kontynuował owocną współpracę z The Neptunes. Produkcja R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece to popis Pharrella jako producenta, który jest współautorem hitów: „Drop It Like It's Hot”, „Let's Get Blown” i „Signs”, stawkę singli uzupełniało „Ups & Downs/Bang Out”. Album wywołał różne opinie: niektórzy uważali, iż album ten zrobił ze Snoop Dogga gwiazdę popu, inni, że zaczął tworzyć bardziej muzykalne utwory.

Snoop Dogg postanowił zerwać z dotychczasowym stylem pop i R&B, koncentrując się na nowym albumie. Nowa produkcja Snoopa to Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, jest powrotem do korzeni i gangsterskich klimatów. Pierwszym singlem jest ponownie produkcja Pharrella „Vato” z gościnnym udziałem B-Reala z Cypress Hill. Drugim singlem z tej płyty był „That’s That” z R. Kelly.

Pod koniec października 2007 roku wziął udział w telewizyjnej gali stacji VH1 - Hip hop honors 2007. Poprowadził również galę rozdania nagród MTV Europe Music Awards w Monachium. W grudniu 2007 roku wystartował jego reality show Snoop Dogg's Father Hood, opowiadający o nim i jego rodzinie.

W 2008 ukazał się album Ego Trippin'. 27 sierpnia 2008 roku Snoop zagrał koncert w Polsce na warszawskim Torwarze.

17 lutego 2009 miał premierę program Calvina Nocne Rozmowy Snoop Dogga. W 2009 roku raper zaczął poszukiwać talentów w Europie. Nagrał single Dime Piece z bułgarską piosenkarką LiLaną, gdzie rapuje inny bułgarski raper Big Sha, Groove On z rosyjskim raperem Timatim oraz wystąpił w teledysku rapera „Time”.

8 grudnia 2009 został wydany jego dziesiąty album studyjny Malice n Wonderland. Promowały go single „Gangsta Luv” z The-Dreamem, „That's Tha Homie” z Timbalandem, „I Wanna Rock” i „Pronto” z Soulja Boyem. Album znalazł się na 23. miejscu notowania Billboard 200, opracowanego przez Billboard.

29 marca 2011 roku, został wydany jedenasty studyjny album, Doggumentary. Pierwotnie tytuł miał brzmieć Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary.

W 2012 roku współpracował z polską wokalistką Izą Lach, do której doszło poprzez wygraną w konkursie na remiks utworu pt. „Set it off”. Owocem tej współpracy jest album wyprodukowany przez rapera pod pseudonimem Berhane Sound System, który został udostępniony za darmo w internecie. Promowany był przez utwory „Set It Off” oraz „Lost In Translation” w których raper udziela się gościnnie.

31 lipca 2012 oświadczył dziennikarzom, że zmienia swój dotychczasowy pseudonim artystyczny na Snoop Lion oraz styl muzyczny na reggae. Za powód przemiany podał, iż został przechrzczony przez jednego z duchowych przywódców rastafariańskich podczas pobytu na Jamajce. Jego pierwszy album po przemianie pt. Reincarnated promowany był przez singel „La La La”, który tworzył z Major Lazer. Ten utwór został udostępniony na oficjalnym kanale artysty w serwisie YouTube. Kolejnymi singlami promującymi album to „No Guns Allowed”, „Lighters Up”, „Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” w duecie z Miley Cyrus oraz „The Good Good” z Izą Lach – do wszystkich zrealizowano teledyski.

10 grudnia 2013 został wydany EP rapera z muzykiem funkowym Dâm-Funk pod kolejnym pseudonimem Snoopzilla. Promował go singel „Faden Away” opublikowany 8 października 2013 w serwisie SoundCloud, a 10 października pojawił się na iTunes. Teledysk do utworu miał premierę 5 listopada 2013. Płyta została utrzymana w klimatach muzyki Funk i G-funk. Na albumie wystąpili wokalista Steve Arrington i raper Kurupt.

Wystąpił w komedii Straszny film 5 (2013) jako Ja' Marcus i użyczył swojego głosu w filmie animowanym Turbo (2013), do którego nagrał także utwór „Let The Bass Go”.

W 2014 roku podjął współpracę wraz z koreańskim raperem Psy znanego z takich utworów jak „Gangnam Style” i „Gentleman”. 8 czerwca 2014 w serwisie YouTube został opublikowany singiel Psy - „Hangover”, w którym gościnnie udzielił się Snoop Dogg. Zrealizowano także teledysk.

W roku 2015 na zaproszenie polskiego rapera Gorzkiego wziął udział w nagraniu piosenki fundacji Pomaganie jest trendy pod tytułem „HIT Rappers”. Udział wzięli także Kurtis Blow, Curtis Young (syn Dr. Dre), PMD, Rakaa (Dilated Peoples), Prodigal Sunn, Kokane, Medusa, Young Nate Dogg oraz śpiewaczka operowa Alicja Węgorzewska-Whiskerd.

1 lipca 2016 został wydany kolejny solowy album Cool Aid.
