Zapraszam na 55 minut w towarzystwie twórczości Irys.
Irys, czyli Martyna Juszczyk, urodziła się 23 października 2003 r. To wokalistka, kompozytorka i autorka tekstów. Gra na ukulele oraz na instrumentach klawiszowych. Jest absolwentką II LO oraz Atelier Głogowskiego Studia Talentów (zainicjowanego przez trenerkę wokalną Dorotę Drozd), działającego przy Miejskim Ośrodku Kultury. Śpiewa od czasów dziecięcych. Śpiew zawsze był jej pasją i zawsze chciała ze śpiewaniem związać swoje życie, czego dowodem są nagrania kowerów, od najmłodszych lat umieszczane przez Martynę na platformie YouTube (kanał nie lubie trufli).

W maju 2020 roku na stronie Miejskiego Ośrodka Kultury w Głogowie na portalu Facebook, w ramach G-Live (Głogów gra na żywo) zarejestrowany został godzinny koncert z autorskim repertuarem. W czerwcu 2023 Martyna wzięła udział w konkursie piosenki "Pod Wielkim Dachem Nieba" w ramach festiwalu pamięci Edwarda Stachury - "Stachuriada" w Grochowicach. Irys wygrała tam główną nagrodę. Wykonawców oceniało jury w składzie: Dorota Drozd, Katarzyna Swędrowska i Mariusz Czaban. Przywilejem zwycięzcy tego konkursu była możliwość zagrania pełnego koncertu w roku następnym, i tak, 29 czerwca 2024 r. Irys wystąpiła jako jedna z głównych gwiazd 30. edycji Stachuriady. W skład zespołu weszli:
Irys - śpiew,
Grzegorz Szymański - piano,
Katarzyna Rajzer - skrzypce.

W 2015 roku Martyna złamała obie ręce jednocześnie, a teraz tymi samymi kończynami tworzy muzykę, która wchodzi pod skórę i zostawia po sobie ślad. W każdym utworze chowa cząstkę siebie i pozwala ponieść się dźwiękom.

Jej pierwszy singiel pt. "Spaliło mi dom" ukazał się 8 września 2023 r. nakładem „najsłodszego kobiecego labelu na świecie” – TheCutestLabel. Irys znalazła się tym samym pod skrzydłami Marie. Oprócz debiutanckiego singla, na epce „UMAMI” umieszczono wspólny utwór pt. "Do Ciebie". Drugi solowy singiel - "Ulubione spodnie" dostał miejsce na playliście "Alternatywna Polska" serwisu Spotify. Artystka brała udział w warsztatach tekściarskich „TekstMisja” oraz „Sklejam słowa”. Od tego momentu Martyna pracuje nad własnym repertuarem.

Została zauważona dzięki platformie Tik-Tok, publikując stworzony ad hoc fragment piosenki: „Zdecydowanie zaskoczył mnie moment, kiedy dodałam fragment ‘Figury woskowej’. To był jedyny numer, którym chciałam się podzielić. Tak naprawdę napisałam tę zwrotkę i refren w dniu, kiedy wstawiłam to do sieci. I to jakimś cudem niesamowicie wystrzeliło; nie byłam na to w ogóle przygotowana, utwór nie był dokończony, nie wiedziałam w sumie, co się z nim wydarzy, ale dostałam bardzo duży odzew. Ludzie faktycznie chcieli więcej i utożsamiali się z tym tekstem, więc zdecydowałam, że muszę to dokończyć”. Rolka nabiła ponad pół miliona wyświetleń.

Utwory Irys produkują m. in. Wojtek Famielec i Marcin Przybyłowicz, z którym w 2025 roku niemal w całości przygotowała EPkę zatytułowaną “Od serca do powiek”. Ów zestaw pojawił się w serwisach strimingowych w ostatni piątek wakacji. Wokalistka znalazła się również w teamie czwartej odsłony projektu Ars Latrans Orchestra. Efekt tej współpracy, zatytułowany „Katharsis” wylądował w serwisach strimingowych na początku listopada.

Wstawka zawiera:

- pełną, sześcioutworową epkę „Od serca do powiek”;
- piosenkę „Cytryny”, w której Irys śpiewa chórki, wspomagając Villaz;
- niespełna półgodzinny koncert warszawskiego cyklu 'Piosenka Premiera', zagrany 9 września 2025 roku.

Soledad Pastorutti to jedna z najważniejszych postaci współczesnej muzyki argentyńskiej. Urodziła się 12 października 1980 roku w niewielkim miasteczku Arequito, w prowincji Santa Fe. Już od najmłodszych lat była związana z muzyką ludową, wychowując się w atmosferze silnie zakorzenionej w tradycjach folklorystycznych Argentyny. Jej talent objawił się bardzo wcześnie, a prawdziwy przełom nastąpił, gdy jako nastolatka wystąpiła na prestiżowym festiwalu folkloru w Cosquín. Ten moment otworzył jej drzwi do ogólnokrajowej kariery i uczynił z niej symbol odrodzenia muzyki folkowej wśród młodego pokolenia. Debiutancki album Poncho al viento, wydany w 1996 roku, odniósł ogromny sukces i szybko przyniósł jej popularność. Soledad wyróżniała się nie tylko mocnym, charakterystycznym głosem, ale także niezwykłą energią sceniczną i autentycznością. W swoich utworach sięgała po tradycyjne formy argentyńskiego folkloru, takie jak chacarera czy zamba, jednocześnie nadając im nowoczesne brzmienie. Dzięki temu folklor przestał być postrzegany wyłącznie jako muzyka starszego pokolenia, a zaczął przemawiać także do młodszych słuchaczy. Na przestrzeni lat Soledad wydała wiele albumów, które ugruntowały jej pozycję jako jednej z najważniejszych artystek w kraju. Jej twórczość łączy przywiązanie do tradycji z otwartością na nowe wpływy, co sprawiło, że stała się artystką uniwersalną, rozpoznawalną nie tylko w Argentynie, ale i w innych krajach Ameryki Łacińskiej. The future seemed promising. But Billingsgate got into financial trouble, dragging the band into the maelstrom in 1974, so Epitaph took some time off. The merry-go-round of personnel changed and when the band went on tour with the Hungarian prog rockers Omega in 1978, the new line-up was in place and with Brain (Metronome) the new label partner was found. "Return To Reality" (1979) achieved considerable sales, a year later on "See You In Alaska" (1980) the band presented itself as a four-piece again and on the legendary "Live" (1981) the Epitaph typical twin guitars dominated again.

"Live" is available here for the first time in digitalized form and also on CD. The conclusion of this Epitaph time travel is the album "Danger Man", released in 1982 on the German Rockport label. The box comes with a 16-page booklet and plenty of bonus material.

Edycja jubileuszowa albumu Wojciecha Skowrońskiego „Blues and Rock”, wydana na czarnym CD. To studyjny debiut zespołu, który został wydany w 1973 roku – 50 lat temu. Początkowo album miał być rejestrowany live – tak jak pierwsza „czwórka” zespołu, która została nagrana podczas festiwalu Jazz Jamboree, ostatecznie zdecydowano się na nagranie studyjne. Czwórka została dołączona do niniejszej edycji.

W momencie, gdy scena rockowa w dużym stopniu skupiała się na poszukiwaniu nowych lądów i łamaniu zasad (Klan, Dżamble, Nurt czy kolejne formacje Niemena),Wojciech Skowroński wprowadzał do tego świata absolutną przeciwwagę w postaci muzyki niezwykle energetycznej i żywiołowej. Łączył w niej jazzową swobodę, bluesowy feeling i żarliwość gospel. Jak sam tłumaczył „Najważniejszy jest rytm, później melodia, a na dalszym planie słowa”. I to słychać od pierwszych dźwięków kompozycji-wizytówki zespołu, gdzie wybijany wręcz perkusyjnie fortepianowy riff stanowi podstawę rozbudowanej formy, wypełnionej długimi popisami wokalnymi i pianistycznymi lidera, splecionymi z krótką piosenką (w której Skowroński wymienia tytuły nagrań z pierwszej „czwórki” swojego tria!). W podobnej formule utrzymana jest „Inwokacja wędrownego szklarza” ,gdzie ekspresyjna pieśń staje się przede wszystkim pretekstem do długiej solówki perkusyjnej. Obok dłuższych utworów w programie płyty znalazła się udana selekcja krótszych, piosenkowych form. Jest tu miejsce i na przejmującego bluesa („Człowiek bez swojej gwiazdy”, eksponujący chórek Rock & Blues), i ciekawe opracowanie wspomnianego już przeboju „Kominiarz Johnny”(wykonywało go także Bractwo Kurkowe 1791), ale też na rozbujaną, zagraną z wspaniałym feelingiem piosenkę Andrzeja Korzyńskiego „Gdybyś miał dwa życia”.

Wojciech Skowroński nie znalazł wielu następców, ponieważ tworzenie muzyki prostej i wyrazistej wcale nie należy do najłatwiej-szych zadań. Sam tłumaczył: „Najtrudniej jest grać prosto, nie ześlizgując się na łatwiznę”. Skowrońskiemu na „Blues & Rock” ta trudna sztuka udała się doskonale.

417 previously unreleased live performances! 'Very limited'

Sony are to release The 1974 Live Recordings a massive 27-disc box set that features all professionally recorded shows from Bob Dylan and The Band’s 1974 tour.

The box set offers fans 417 previously unreleased live tracks – including 133 recordings newly mixed from 16-track tape, and every single surviving soundboard recording.

In 1974 Dylan toured live for the first time in eight years and reunited with The Band, who since they last performed live together (in 1966) had released six albums and played Woodstock and recorded with Bob (The Basement Tapes, Planet Waves).

Dylan and The Band performed 30 dates in 42 days (often playing two sets per day) and recordings were captured on a stereo soundboard mix, on both quarter-inch tape and cassette. By tour’s end, Asylum Records’ David Geffen had commissioned recordings on multi-track tape, for eventual release on Before the Flood. The 1974 Live Recordings includes it all of these and the shows that were recorded on 16-track tape are newly-mixed for this box set, which comes with with new sleeve notes by Elizabeth Nelson.

Sony are to release The 1974 Live Recordings a massive 27-disc box set that features all professionally recorded shows from Bob Dylan and The Band’s 1974 tour.

The box set offers fans 417 previously unreleased live tracks – including 133 recordings newly mixed from 16-track tape, and every single surviving soundboard recording.

In 1974 Dylan toured live for the first time in eight years and reunited with The Band, who since they last performed live together (in 1966) had released six albums and played Woodstock and recorded with Bob (The Basement Tapes, Planet Waves).

Dylan and The Band performed 30 dates in 42 days (often playing two sets per day) and recordings were captured on a stereo soundboard mix, on both quarter-inch tape and cassette. By tour’s end, Asylum Records’ David Geffen had commissioned recordings on multi-track tape, for eventual release on Before the Flood. To jest jedna z moich najbardziej ulubionych i najczęściej słuchanych mało znanych płyt! Zremasterowana i bardzo dobrze brzmiąca reedycja nagranego w dwie i pół godziny i wydanego na początku 1969 roku, debiutanckiego albumu autentycznie kultowej, australijskiej formacji. Ten rewelacyjny LP to świetne kompozycje, mnóstwo przesterowanych gitar i sporo psychodelii, czyli skrzyżowanie Hendrixa i Cream ze szczyptą późnych Beatlesów. Na płycie nie ma słabych momentów i po prostu każdy fan starego rocka powinien mieć ten tytuł w kolekcji!

"Evolution" is a very psychedelic album from the Australian surf acids rockers Tamam Shud. There are moments of pure psych prog and other moments are simple rock structures reminiscent of early 60s rock. The vocals of Lindsay Bjerre are raw and unpolished, the songs are short and to the point for the most part, and there were strong rhythms; they were a no frills Aussie product of the psychedelic 60s. A lot of the songs are throwaway 60s fodder but there are a few shining moments.

'It's a beautiful day' has a staccato riff that pulsates along with a simple guitar motif, and then the time signature becomes odd. The guitars have a spacey quality, with very pronounced arpeggios. The lyrics are strange and non sensical; "it's a beautiful day the sound of the symphony...to a house of no ending, the minds are bending..." The time sig completely changes toward the end to an almost whimsical tune.

'Mr Strange' is a rocker with a driving beat and heavy guitars, the drumming is relentless and overblown with crashing cymbals that are constant. The psychedelic lyrics are notable; "it's been a while since we saw you I thought it was very strange, how does it feel Mr Strange, how is the weather today, you've been walking round in the rain... the bird has flown now your seed is sown..." Another blazing rock number with raucous guitars.

'Falling Up' has a quirky riff that sounds a bit like the Crazy World of Arthur Brown in structure and feel. The lead break is a cool surfie refrain typical of the underground 60s, similar to The Sonics or acid rockers The 13th Floor Elevators.

'Jesus Guide Me' is another rocking song and the lead singer Lindsay Bjerre is almost screaming the words 'Jesus Guide Me' as if he is crying out in desperation for help. Perhaps this is like the cry of the Jesus freaks, the long haired hippies that were searching for meaning during the late 60s.

'Lady Sunshine' has a metronome swinging beat that drives it and some unusual guitar noises. The vocals are melodic with typical 60s flower power themes, "lady sunshine let that sunshine in". The stoner rock of the album is evident on these types of throwaway tracks, that seemed designed to get high to rather than to admire any type of musical virtuosity.

The final song is 'Too Many Life' with a very strange structure, a driving beat that moves in metrical shapes slow to fast, and lead guitar breaks that flow along simply but effectively. The lyrics are rebellious anecdotes and the cry of wanting to be free from the system, the cry of the 60s youth; "Too many people using my time, blowing my mind, too many juries, judging my time, jailing my mind..." After the freakout ending, there is a male scream of pain and then a female screaming like she is being murdered and then we hear footsteps down a hallway. It really freaked me out as I wasn't prepared for that disturbing ending. In a way it is like a scream of agony from the youth wanting to be set free from the expectations of conforming to the rules and regulations of the late 60s.

The band are not virtuoso musicians on this album but they make their intentions known in their no-nonsense style in a bunch of songs less than three minutes, with some almost clocking 4 minutes and one clocking in at 7 minutes. They were not designed for prosperity or longevity, Lindsay Bjerre even admitted in a GTK interview that they were not good enough for an American tour and pretty much kept to the surf and sun of Australian shores to bring their music to the masses. Certainly the band were a product of their time and this album was a solid debut; a taste of the underground 60s sound of Aussie prog and is quite a curiosity worth hearing.

Kolejny rewelacyjny tytuł z bogatej kolekcji japońskiego rocka progresywnego z początku lat 70-tych - niestety niemal zupełnie nieznany poza Japonią! Wydany w 1971 roku nakładem Capitolu czwarty, ostatni w karierze i bez wątpienia najlepszy album soft-progresywnej formacji z organistą Kunim Kawachim w składzie. LP zawierał dojrzałą, bogato zaaranżowaną i autentycznie frapującą mieszankę psychodelii i wczesnego rocka progresywnego, z organami Kawachiego (znanego m.in. z kapitalnego LP "Kirikyogen" nagranego w 1970 z przyszłymi muzykami Flower Travellin' Band) i gitarą Kimio Mizutaniego (który z muzyka sesyjnego przeistoczył się w "+1" w nazwie grupy) w rolach głównych. Ten ponury, poświęcony motywom przemijania i śmierci, ale bardzo elegancki i pełen klasy album (zaśpiewany po japońsku) przywodzi na myśl twórczość wczesnych Procol Harum w połączeniu z The Zombies (z okresu "Odessey And Oracle").

Przyznam się, że kilka lat temu był taki moment że po zakupie winylu słuchałem tego tytułu przez 2-3 tygodnie, a im dłużej, tym bardziej nie mogłem się od niego oderwać! 10-minutowy "Death" (dość marnie brzmiący...) to moim zdaniem absolutny majstersztyk psych-progresywnego rocka, choć na płycie naprawdę nie ma słabych momentów. Doskonała jakość dźwięku! Dodatkowo sześć rzadkich nagrań koncertowych ze stycznia 1970 roku, utrzymanych w bardziej soulowo-bluesującym stylu.

Happenings Four to zdecydowanie jeden z najciekawszych i najbardziej rewolucyjnych japońskich zespołów przełomu lat 60-tych i 70-tych. Na początku było ich pięciu i nazywali się Sunrise. Na czele grupy, która powstała w 1964 roku, stali bracia Kavachi: Cooney grał na organach, a Chito cicho popylał na perkusji. Dwa lata później prowincjonalny Sunrise przeniósł się do Tokio gdzie zaczęli grać w nocnych klubach taneczną muzykę. W 1967 zredukowany do kwartetu błyskawicznie zmienił repertuar i nazwę na Happenings Four. Po dwóch udanych singlach orientalni muzycy zdecydowali się nagrać dużą płytę na wzór „Magical Mystery Tour” The Beatles. Pomysł został poparty przez kierownictwo koncernu Toshiba, który w 1968 roku wydał im longplay „The Magical Happenings Tour”. Oprócz własnych kompozycji pyta zawierała między innymi wersje piosenek The Beatles („Day Tripper” i „Magical Mystery Tour”), braci Gibb („Holiday”), soulowo jazzowy standard Bobby Hebba („Sunny”), tytułową kompozycję Francisa Lei z filmu „Kobieta i mężczyzna” i numer jazzowego saksofonisty Lou Donaldsona („Alligator Boogaloo”). Wydawnictwo wszystkim przypadło do ​​gustu. To był młyn na wodę. Wkrótce muzycy dali fanom drugi album, „Classical Elegance Baroque 'N’ Roll” (1969), który zawierał autorskie numery, oraz cięższe wersje utworów Beatlesów, duetu Simon And Garfunkel, The Mamas And The Papas. Fani rocka i popu zaskoczeni świetnymi aranżacjami i doskonałą techniką muzyków przyjęli go entuzjastycznie. Do chłopaków dołączył samuraj Mizutani Kimio ze swoją sześciostrunową gitarą, tym samym marka Happenings Four została wzbogacona o dopisek „+ 1”, który pojawił się przy nazwie zespołu na płycie „Hikishio Michishio” (poza Japonią jako „The Long Trip”). Dzięki napływowi świeżej krwi pop psychodeliczna do tej pory grupa zaczęła nową rundę rozwoju, czym potwierdziła tym właśnie albumem wydanym przez Capitol w maju tego samego roku.

Podążając za brytyjskimi okrętami flagowymi progowego gatunku, japońscy rycerze naostrzyli swoje samurajskie miecze i pokonali proto postępową inwazję bojowymi dźwiękami. Użyli przy tym ojczystego języka (jedynie tytuły utworów są po angielsku), ale w ogólnym kontekście nie ma to żadnego znaczenia. Tematyka albumu dotycząca przemijania i śmierci podana w bardzo elegancki sposób współgra z tym, co i tak jest najważniejsze – pyszną instrumentalną muzyką. Zdolny Kuni Kawachi z wydającym dramatyczne dźwięki psychodelicznym Hammondem w absolutnie niepodrabialnym stylu wyczarował oryginalną atmosferę począwszy od frywolnego i pełnego przygód „An Ebb Tide And The Flood Tide”, gdzie orientalni magowie udają się w przeciwną niż inni stronę, aż do barokowych granic filozoficznej płaszczyzny końcowego „A Pick And A Shovel”.

Już pierwszy utwór „An Ebb Tide And The Flood Tide”, zawierający skomplikowane rytmy perkusji i elektryzujący, napełniony tragedią wokal podkreślony niepokojącymi dźwiękami organów przykuwa uwagę. „A Pick And A Shovel” to podzielona na trzy części opowieść utkana w różne miejsca na płycie opowiadająca o pracowniku biura skazanego na ciężką, fizyczną pracę z kilofem i łopatą. Nasz bohater, wykonujący pracą ponad swoje siły, któregoś dnia pada na ziemię. Nikt nie zwraca na niego uwagi. Umiera obok pracujących jak roboty pracowników. Tome Kitagawa głosem pełnym bólu i rozpaczy pyta: „Jak żyć bez przyjaciela, który nikomu nic nie zawinił..?” Ludzka tragedia zdaje się trwać bez końca. W „Electrocution” niewinny mężczyzna z nadzieją na ułaskawienie zostaje właśnie stracony na krześle elektrycznym. Choć dramaturgia w tym nagraniu jest wielka, mroczne i depresyjne sceny idą w parze z muzycznie lżejszymi przerywnikiem (odurzenie w obliczu śmierci?) przez co kompozycja jako całość nabiera jeszcze większego dramatyzmu. Najdłuższy, 10-minutowy „Death” tak naprawdę nie ma nic wspólnego z proto death metalem. W rzeczywistości to majstersztyk psychodelicznego prog rocka opartego na organach z heavy rockową sekcją rytmiczną zaśpiewany pełnym pasji głosem przez Tome’a! O wiele krótszy, bo ledwo dwuipółminutowy „Money Tree” z wiodącym Hammondem i wokalem odbijającym się echem jak w kościele nawiązuje do barkowej muzyki podlaną psychodelicznym sosem. Brzmi bardzo ciekawe! Z większości mrocznych kompozycji strefę komfortu ma dla nas tylko „On The Cherry Tree And The Tiled Roof Of Street” – pełna ciepła i uroku piosenka w duchu Procol Harum będąca jasnym promykiem wbijającym się w ten w sumie ciemny album. Album, od który swego czasu trudno było mi się uwolnić.

Ekstremalna aktywność koncertowa grupy niekorzystnie odbiła się na muzykach. Tarcia między nimi doprowadziły w 1972 roku do rozwiązania zespołu. Szkoda. Z tak twórczym potencjałem mogli jeszcze stworzyć naprawdę sporo dobrej muzyki. Jak dla mnie Happenings Four +1 był zwiastunem nadchodzącego świtu japońskiego progresywnego rocka.
