The program from the original double LP (the nearly free "Cosmos," an intense workout on "Out of This World," a bass feature and the truly wild "Evolution").

Throughout much of this set Coltrane plays some miraculous solos, Sanders consistently turns on the heat, Garrett makes the passionate ensembles a bit overcrowded, Tyner is barely audible, Garrison drones in the background and Jones struggles to make sense of it all.

This is innovative and difficult music that makes today's young lions (not to mention the pop saxophonists) sound very old-fashioned in comparison.

Martin Gore, członek legendarnej grupy Depeche Mode, powraca z solowym projektem! EP-ka „The Third Chimpanzee” ukazuje się 29 stycznia nakładem wytwórni Mute. Na mini albumie znajdzie się 5 instrumentalnych kompozycji. „Mandrill” to pierwszy zwiastun muzyczny tego wydawnictwa. Utwór został napisany i wyprodukowany przez samego Martina. Materiał na EP-kę zarejestrowano w tym roku w Electric Ladyboy w Santa Barbara, w Kalifornii. „Pierwszy utwór, który nagrałem zawierał dźwięki nie przypominające głosu człowieka. Brzmiały bardziej jak te wydawane przez ssaki naczelne. Dlatego postanowiłem nadać mu tytuł „Howler”, od małpy. Kiedy przyszedł czas na nazwę EP-ki przypomniałem sobie, że czytałem książkę „The Rise and Fall of the Third Chimpanzee”. To miało sens, bo EP-kę napisał jeden z trzech szympansów” - mówi Martin.
