Thin Lizzy are a rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. Two of the founding members, drummer Brian Downey and bass guitarist and lead vocalist Phil Lynott, met while still in school. Lynott led the group throughout their recording career of twelve studio albums, writing most of the material. Thin Lizzy's most successful songs, "Whiskey in the Jar" (a traditional Irish ballad), "Jailbreak" and "The Boys Are Back in Town", were all major international hits. After Lynott's death in 1986, various incarnations of the band emerged over the years based initially around guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes, though Sykes left the band in 2009. Gorham later continued with a new line-up including Downey.

The preeminent metal band of the early to mid-'90s, Pantera put to rest any and all remnants of the '80s metal scene, almost single-handedly demolishing any notion that hair metal, speed metal, power metal, et al., were anything but passé. Loathe to admit it, the Texas band had in fact been one of those '80s metal bands, releasing fairly unsuccessful (and later disowned) glam-inspired music throughout much of the decade. The about-face came with the addition of vocalist Phil Anselmo, and the key turning point was the band's major-label debut, Cowboys from Hell (1990). Pantera's mainstream breakthrough came next with Vulgar Display of Power (1992), their second major-label album, which thrust the band to the forefront of the metal scene, alongside such veteran bands as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, as well as fellow up-and-comers Sepultura and White Zombie.

Amjad Ali Khan Bangash (ur. 9 października 1945 r.) To klasyczny indyjski gracz sarod, najbardziej znany ze swoich jasnych i szybkich ekhara taans. Khan urodził się w klasycznej muzycznej rodzinie i występuje na arenie międzynarodowej od lat 60. XX wieku. Został odznaczony drugim najwyższym cywilnym honorem Indii Padmą Vibhushan w 2001 roku.

Khan po raz pierwszy wystąpił w Stanach Zjednoczonych w 1963 roku i kontynuował w 2000 roku wraz ze swoimi synami. W trakcie swojej kariery eksperymentował z modyfikacjami swojego instrumentu. A series of compilations put out originally by Compost Records. The first four volumes list the series as The Future Sound Of Jazz. The article "The" was skipped for subsequent volumes and "Sound" became "Sounds".
The series was picked up in the U.S. by Instinct Records starting from Vol.2 up to Vol.4. Since they didn't release the first volume on Compost Records, they re-numbered their releases. The original Vol.2 on Compost Records became Vol.1 on Instinct Records and so on. Their series can be found under The Future Sound Of Jazz.

Jethro Tull were a unique phenomenon in popular music history. Their mix of hard rock, folk melodies, blues licks, surreal, impossibly dense lyrics, and overall profundity defied easy analysis, but that didn't dissuade fans from giving them 11 gold and five platinum albums.
