Special and commemorative reissue of the 30th anniversary of the album "Stolen Life" by Finnish hardcore legend RATTUS! For the first time officially on CD, a luxurious digipack version in 3 panels containing photos and posters of the time, lyrics, a short text of the band about album, insert format poster with the cover of the French version, and a cover entirely exclusive to this special edition made by brazilian 1BERTO (TERVEET KÄDET, SICK TERROR, SOCIAL CHAOS, ULSTER, ...). In addition, the recording was fully remastered. Influenced by bands like Anthrax, Slayer and Venom, and with the motto "We can do whatever we want", RATTUS record the album "Stolen Life" in 1986, which was originally released in 87 by the French label Neg. Fx. Records, and in 88 by the Brazilian label New Face Records. There are 10 tracks with incredible sound, a mix of Finnish hardcore, crossover and Thrash Metal! Required item for any collector of early Punk Hardcore, mainly Finnish!

Kolejna, nieco zapomniana, krautrockowa perła! Po wydaniu własnym sumptem w styczniu 1971 debiutanckiego, mocno jethrotullowskiego albumu 'Weiss Der Teufel' zespół został złapany przez progresywno-folkową wytwórnię Pilz i jeszcze w tym samym roku do sklepów trafił kapitalny Phallobst. Płyta w efektowny sposób łączyła klasyczny, momentami ciężkawy rock progresywny z elementami folku, bluesa i psychodelii, a jej brzmienie ponownie jak na debiucie opierało się m.in. na charakterystycznym flecie, stonowanych ale urokliwych partiach wokalu no i oczywiście na rozbudowanych partiach instrumentalnych. Czyli, niezbyt daleko od tego, co proponowali na swoich 'Benefit' i 'Aqualung' muzycy Jethro Tull!

Niemiecki zespół nie zmarnował czasu w studio - 'dwójka' brzmiała bardziej profesjonalnie niż (na swój sposób kapitalnie, surowo brzmiący) debiut; ponadto artyści nie unikali eksperymentów z brzmieniem czy efektownymi zmianami (przyspieszeniami) tempa. Oczywiście to nie jest muzyka która wpada w ucho od pierwszego razu, ale jest bardzo nagradzająca po kilku przesłuchaniach! Dodatkowo umieszczono 5 nagrań demo z 1972 roku przeznaczonych na niewydany w epoce, trzeci album 'Avalon And On'. Bez wątpienia jest to najlepiej brzmiąca wersja CD!

RZ's second album, released on the now-legendary Pilz label, was recorded in Dieter Dierks's studios. Two personnel changes: the bassist (departing Lieblang was the lyric writer in the first line-up, and he contributes to three songs without playing) and the addition of a second guitarist Kittel. Early 70's German prog group always shared some doubtful tastes regarding their artwork (in this regard the rebel-rock attitude was more respected than their English counterparts), but here we are definitely with one of the top 10 tasteless artwork depicting a rotten pear getting devoured by worms and the just-as-ugly inside gatefold shows their faces as the worms >> yummyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
Clearly better produced, with more musical possibilities (both guitarist play a bit of KB now and then and even a tad of Mellotron), with much shorter track length (max 6 minutes), this album is more concise and maybe proggier than the debut. If the first two tracks go unsurprisingly by with their lot of happy sounds, we are more intrigued with the lengthier Schupfner with its medieval-like guitars and superb flute: very reminiscent of the first album, it is the highlight of the A-side of the album along with a much calmer and reflective Waste Land.

The second side of the album is a bit more uplifting with the instrumental Makrojel opening strongly, with a jazzy feeling, but we are again in the typical sound of theirs. Actually, it is quite hard to recognize instantly which RZ track you are listening to without the help of the albums, as they had a "sound with which they rarely digressed from. Another instrumental track, Prickel Pit, follows with heavier riffy guitars, while an Derroll Adams track, Portland Town will become a concert favourite. The closing track is a rather slow developer (with them Mellotrons and a clavinet in the intro). But while there are some Folk influences on this album, to call this their main influences would be grossly exaggerating as they take up as much from the blues or jazz in the studio and live they were even bluesier..

As with the debut album in its Cd version, Phallobst now comes with 8 bonus tracks: the second part of the farewell concert in 72, and as you might've guessed if you read my review of the debut, the sound is bootleg-quality (marginally better at times) and them tracks do not really add any kind of value to the original album.

Again RZ was not essential to the development of progressive rock, but they were a small brick that was integral part of the pyramid, this album being just as good or pleasant as the debut. But if nothing worth writing home about, both albums do deserve the odd spin now and then.

Filii Nigrantium Infernalium gra według własnych zasad. Okładka po raz kolejny to studium brzydoty, tytuł albumu stał się jeszcze bardziej skomplikowany niż nazwa zespołu, a wokale zniechęcą połowę potencjalnych słuchaczy już przy pierwszym odsłuchu.
Ale pod tą otoczką szaleństwa kryje się mnóstwo muzycznego talentu i choć ulepszenia są stopniowe, Pérfida Contracção do Aço z powodzeniem dopracowuje i modyfikuje i tak już energetyczną i uzależniającą formułę.



Open the mouth of Hell: Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, classical portuguese maniac Black Metal pioneers, deliver their 4th album for Osmose Productions.
Crushing, demented production and compositions. Blasphemous disconcerting artwork by cult artist Paolo Girardi. Forged out from the pandemic, this masterpiece is raw, baroque and complexly straight to the point, an unpredictable, insane labyrinth of sound and words.
Sacrilegious and offensive speedthrashblackmetal, grotesque sinister gloom, venomous sarcasm ranging from old school heavy metal to dark sharpened doom and relentlessly wild blasting beats’ devastation.




Back in the nineties, I was two weeks on vacation in Portugal. Our self-catering accommodation was in Nazaré and it was actually a lovely holiday. But there were also two disappointments. I didn't meet this supposedly famous Jesus of Nazaré (or did he come from somewhere else?) and on 1 October, most of the bars and restaurants closed from one day to the next. End of season, see where you can eat, stupid tourist. Fortunately, there's still a month left until the end of September this year, but I'm afraid that after that, you'll only be able to hear two or three songs of “Pérfida Contracção do Aço“ and the rest will hibernate.

So let’s enjoy the album all the more intensely until the magic Portuguese time barrier falls. The quartet celebrates a fantastic mix of different kinds of extreme metal. The dudes bastardize thrash, black and, in smaller portions, punk and death metal and spend an additional touch of violent hysteria. The vocals have a lot of facets, from manic depressive to pathologically relevant to aggressively desperate. They alone lend the album the character of a wild dog that hasn’t got a bone since Christmas. The song structures do not make it easier for the listener. It is not just the raging, many faces revealing title track which demonstrates that Filii Nigrantium Infernalium spit on conventional parameters. By the way, they do it with courage and conviction. But besides all the relentlessly attacking parts, a few Celtic Frost influenced tones pave their morbid way. This welcome ingredient appears later in all its glory in the epic, fanfares presenting “Vaticanale”, especially in the “Circle of the Tyrants” compatible leads and some weltschmerz lines of the lead vocalist. Thus, the diversity of the songs contributes to the album's impression of intellectual flexibility and compositional class.

Filii Nig… and so on are aware of a fact some extreme metal combos love to forget many times. They know that a certain degree of catchiness is no bad thing. Thus, they have created formidable sections like the dramatic, violent and furious chorus of “Christo.Rei.Animal”, which is embedded in a dystopian scenario of alarming guitars and menacing bass lines. Yes, it is pretty amazing that the band creates a confusing whirlwind without stealing the listener any chance of orientation. Maybe it takes a little time to align the own rotten mindset with the even more rotten one of the band and this could be the reason why the opener is solid and destructive, but not among the best songs. Anyway, the longer the album lasts, the more it spreads its apocalyptic, anarchic vibrations. Don’t be fooled by the almost traditional riff at the beginning of “Má Criação”. It’s a cool opening, no doubt about it, but even this piece houses blast beats dominated sections which could be the soundtrack for the next genocide.

Osmose is the company that released “Pérfida Contracção do Aço“ and this alone guarantees a very good mix. Everything sounds vigorous, juicy and pretty devastating. It is probably a stale slogan, but it is true: these Portuguese take no prisoners. Honestly speaking, it does not matter. The main thing is that Filii N. I. have retained their sense of clear contours and a good sense of melody, while at the same time jumping back and forth between chaos and carnage. So don’t fall victim to the similar artists list. I really don’t see what the band has in common with Moonspell, with the exception of the origin, of course. A hybrid of Estertor, Impaled Nazarene and Bewitched, this is what we get here – and it is simply cool, great and fascinating. I really hope it stays that way beyond the end of the summer season.

Wydany w 1969 roku, jedyny album tej psychodelicznej kanadyjskiej formacji należy do grona kolekcjonerskich, winylowych rarytasów (jest m.in. w książce Hansa Pokory).
The Medium grali pomysłową, bardzo dopracowaną i zarazem bardzo atmosferyczną muzykę, bliską stylistyce The Doors, Vanilla Fudge, Iron Butterfly oraz mało znanych C.A. Quintet - czyli dużo partii organów oraz ostro przesterowana (momentami nawet jazzująca) gitara.



The only album of this forgotten Montreal band was released on tiny Gamma label in 1969 and is usually considered as one of the very best Canadian albums from late 60' s psychedelic era.

It mostly contained a trippy, instrumental music full of swirling organ and fuzz guitar parts, but there were also a space for atmospheric, dreamy ballads sung in a deep voice and for some distinctive, weird and 'jazzy' guitar solos...

Anyway, it was a pretty complex and freaky album, which can be described as a stylistic combination of Vanilla Fudge, The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Aorta and C.A. Quintet. It has been carefully remastered from the original, analogue source and sounds really great!

Psy Wojny to polski zespół punkrockowy, założony w 1985 w Jastrzębiu Zdroju. Głównym założycielem i liderem grupy był Tomasz „Falon” Jaworski, wokalista zespołu. Pierwszy koncert Psów Wojny odbył się w salce katechetycznej w Jastrzębiu Zdroju w 1987 roku. Początki zespołu były dość trudne jeśli chodzi o stabilizację składu, a wynikało to z obowiązkowego poboru do odbycia służby wojskowej. Nie stanęło to przeszkodzie do ukazania się pierwszego zapisu fonograficznego grupy w postaci demo „Die Kriegshunde”, będącego rejestracją z próby zespołu - wydawnictwem zajęła się mała wytwórnia „Swoboda Records” z Kępna. Zespół wystąpił na festiwalu w Jarocinie, grał też w Niemczech. W roku 1992 Psy Wojny nagrały płytę „W Przebłysku Świadomości” wyd. FALA. Jednak najgłośniejszym echem odbiła się płyta, która powstała rok później pt. „Demokracja” - zarejestrowana na kasecie za sprawą wydawnictwa Silver-Ton i na płycie cd pod szyldem niemieckiego wydawnictwa The Rats Of Rocks Records. Ballada o barze Relax taki tytuł nosi kolejna płyta z spod ręki wytwórni Silver-Ton. Wstawka zawiera najnowszą płytę zespołu, pierwszą od 29 lat.

The Black Crowes to amerykański zespół rockowy założony w 1989 roku w Atlanta przez braci Chrisa i Richarda Robinsonów. Grupa stała się jednym z kluczowych przedstawicieli odrodzenia klasycznego rocka w latach 90., łącząc wpływy blues rocka, southern rocka i hard rocka. Ich debiutancki album Shake Your Money Maker (1990) odniósł ogromny sukces komercyjny, zawierając takie utwory jak „She Talks to Angels” i „Hard to Handle”. Płyta szybko wyniosła zespół do czołówki amerykańskiej sceny rockowej. Kolejne wydawnictwa, zwłaszcza The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (1992) oraz Amorica (1994), ugruntowały ich reputację jako zespołu łączącego klasyczne brzmienia rockowe z surową energią i bluesową wrażliwością. W 2000 roku zespół zawiesił działalność, by później wielokrotnie się reaktywować. W kolejnych latach wydali m.in. Warpaint (2008) oraz Happiness Bastards (2024), pokazując bardziej dojrzałe podejście do swojego brzmienia, ale pozostając wierni korzeniom rockowym. Wstawka zawiera dziesiąty, najnowszy album studyjny The Black Crowes.

Bamboo to zespół pochodzący z Monterrey w stanie Nuevo Leon w Meksyku, założony w 2000 roku i będący pionierem gatunku reggae – stylu muzycznego, który był już popularny w innych meksykańskich miastach, lecz na północy kraju pozostawał mało znany. W trakcie swojej kariery Bamboo dzieliło scenę z najbardziej reprezentatywnymi zespołami meksykańskiego reggae, takimi jak Rastrillos, La Comuna, Antidoping, Ganja czy La Yaga. Występowali również z największymi artystami Ameryki Łacińskiej, jak Pericos, Cafres, Cultura Profetica czy Gondwana, a także na arenie międzynarodowej, grając u boku brytyjskiego zespołu Steel Pulse oraz legendarnego jamajskiego artysty Burning Spear.
