...SIŁA I PIĘKNO MUZYKI TKWIĄ W JEJ RÓŻNORODNOŚCI...


To był bardzo ciężki okres dla członków Helloween. Data premiery płyty przesuwana była kilka razy. Zespół był ciągany po sądach. A wszystko to przez konflikt między Noise Records a EMI. Właściciele Noise twierdzili, że kontrakt, jaki zespół podpisał z wytwórnią, cały czas obowiązuje, a co za tym idzie koncern EMI nie mam prawa wydać nowego materiału. Koniec końców płytę wydał EMI i uważam, iż dobrze się stało, że Helloween wreszcie wyrwał się ze szpon Noise. Ta wytwórnia ponoć zniszczyła niejeden zespół... chociaż Gamma Ray i Virgin Steele nie narzekają. Dodatkowo po trasie koncertowej zespół opuścił jeden z założycieli, fenomenalny Kai Hansen. Na jego miejsce przyszedł znany (a może i nieznany) z grupy Rampage, długowłosy Roland Grapow. Jedno stało się oczywiste: zmiany musiały nastąpić!

I nastąpiły... pytanie tylko, czy dobre? Ja mimo wszystko uważam, że bardzo dobrze się stało, iż Helloween zmienili swój styl. Owszem, mogli nagrać kolejną część "Keepera", ale czy miałoby to sens? Chyba nie. Zespół po prostu zaczął by powoli stawać się kopią samego siebie, a to byłoby naprawdę groźne. Ale dosyć tych dywagacji... zajmijmy się muzyką. A muzyka, jaka zawarta jest na "Pink Bubbles Go Ape", jest wysokich lotów (bez względu na to, co ktoś o tym sądzi).

Album otwiera utwór tytułowy, krótki i bardzo delikatny, ale jakże cudowny, w całości zagrany na gitarze klasycznej. Następnie dostajemy między oczy. To "Kids Of The Century". Szybki i bezkompromisowy numer, trochę w stylu starych kawałków, ale nie do końca. Już od pierwszych taktów da się zauważyć różnicę w stylu gry na gitarze między Kaiem a Rolandem. Roland preferuje grę bardziej wirtuozerską, podczas gdy Kai większą wagę przywiązywał do szybkości i agresji. Kolejny utwór to "Back On The Streets". Równie szybki i melodyjny jak jego poprzednik. "Number One" to pierwszy singiel wykrojony z tego albumu. Utwór w pełni ukazujący to, jak znacząco zmieniło się podejście zespołu własnej muzyki. Jest znacznie bardziej stonowana i nastrojowa, ale jednocześnie porywa swoim rytmem i genialną melodią. Piąty w kolejności jest "Heavy Metal Hamsters", dziwny, pokręcony i jednocześnie śmieszny i ironiczny. Typowy dla Helloween. "Goin' Home" znowu pędzi, pędzi bardzo szybko i kiedy wydaje się, że już bardziej pędzić nie może, przeradza się w "Someone's Crying" i pędzi jeszcze szybciej - ultra szybko. Ten kawałek to cudo. Wspaniały tekst, melodia i zapierająca dech w piersiach prędkość. Potem następuje zwolnienie i nadchodzi "Mankind", najbardziej rozbudowany i majestatyczny utwór na całym albumie. "I'm Doin' Fine, Crazy Man" to kolejny "śmieszny" numer. Muzykę do tego kawałka napisał Markus i jest to jedyny jego utwór na płycie. Zresztą utwory napisane przez niego bardzo rzadko trafiają na krążki Helloween, ale za to jest ich mnóstwo na wszelkiego rodzaju EPkach, czy singlach. Pozostały jeszcze dwa kawałki. Pierwszy z nich to utwór Rolanda "The Chance", a drugi to numer napisany w całości przez Kiske'ego. "Your Turn", bo o nim mowa, to jedna z najwspanialszych ballad jakie w życiu słyszałem (a słyszałem wiele) i zdecydowanie najlepsza w historii Helloween. Na japońskiej wersji albumu znajduje się dodatkowo kawałek "Shit And Lobster". Nic specjalnego... chociaż melodia jest wspaniała.

Na koniec należy wspomnieć o niesamowitych partiach wokalnych. Michael Kiske przeszedł na tym krążku samego siebie. Zaryzykuję stwierdzenie, że Michael nigdy wcześniej nie śpiewał tak dobrze. Jego głos jest czysty, pewny i porażający siłą, i ekspresją wyrazu. Uważam, że niedoceniany przez wielu "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" to świetny album i gorąco go polecam wszystkim, którzy chcą posłuchać czegoś naprawdę wartościowego.

Po sukcesie "Keeperów" Helloween trafił pod skrzydła dużej wytwórni (EMI) i nagrał nową płytę pod okiem producenta Chrisa Tsangaridesa, który dopiero co wyprodukował fenomenalny album Judas Priest Painkiller. I choć odszedł co prawda gitarzysta Kai Hansen, to został zastąpiony przez znakomitego wszakże Rolanda Grapowa. Jednakże wraz z Hansenem zespół zdążyła opuścić też dobra atmosfera, a współpraca z Tsangaridesem okazała się niewypałem.

Grupa skupiła się na bardziej komercyjnym graniu, prezentując tu brzmienie bliższe popularnemu wówczas glam metalowi, niż poprzednim nagraniom. Zaprezentowała też kilka wyjątkowo nijakich numerów jak choćby Heavy Metal Hamsters, Goin' Home oraz I'm Doin' Fine, Crazy Man. Tylko trochę lepszy jest wydany na singlu przebój Number One, taki wpadający w ucho radiowy przebój czy The Chance opatrzony melodyjną, gitarową harmonią we wstępie. Zaskakuje przy tym prawie zerowy wkład Weikatha w komponowanie numerów. Pałeczkę przejął w tym przypadku Kiske, autor lub współautor aż ośmiu utworów, wspomagany przez nowego w składzie, Grapowa.

Choć jako całość płyta rozczarowuje to nie brak i niezłych momentów. W Kids of the Century jest czadowa motoryka i całkiem miły, śpiewny refren. W zawadiackim Back on the Streets ze względu na sposób śpiewania Kiskego i dynamiczne, acz niezbyt forsowne metalowe granie, robi się klimat nieco w stylu pierwszych solowych płyt Bruce'a Dickinsona czy też Samson. Nieźle wypada też utrzymany w nieco bardziej mrocznym klimacie Mankind, opatrzony bardzo śpiewnym refrenem z firmowymi "górkami" Kiskego. Podobać się może ballada Your Turn. Mamy też trochę bardziej powermetalowego grania w Someone's Cryin'. Ostatecznie, nie jest to materiał, który byłby powodem do dumy, ale i też nie słucha się go źle.

Live 8 was a string of benefit concerts that took place on 2 July 2005, in the G8 states and in South Africa. They were timed to precede the G8 conference and summit held at the Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Scotland from 6–8 July 2005. Both events also coincided with the 20th anniversary of Live Aid. Run in support of the aims of the UK's Make Poverty History campaign and the Global Call to Action Against Poverty, ten simultaneous concerts were held on 2 July and one on 6 July. On 7 July, the G8 leaders pledged to double 2004 levels of aid to poor nations from US$25 billion to US$50 billion by the year 2010. Half of the money was to go to Africa. More than 1,000 musicians performed at the concerts, which were broadcast on 182 television networks and 2,000 radio networks.

Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof announced the event on 31 May. Many former Live Aid acts offered their services to the cause. Prior to the official announcement of the event, many news sources referred to the event as Live Aid 2. However, Geldof and co-organiser Midge Ure have since explicitly said they do not think of the event as the same as Live Aid. On an episode of BBC Two music-based comedy panel show Never Mind the Buzzcocks, which aired on 2 March 2006, The Cribs frontman Ryan Jarman said he had texted Geldof to suggest that a "Live Aid 2" would be a good idea. However, after organising the event, Geldof said: "This is not Live Aid 2. These concerts are the start point for The Long Walk To Justice, the one way we can all make our voices heard in unison."[1] Many of the Live 8 backers were also involved in the largely forgotten NetAid concerts, including Executive Producer Jeff Pollack.

Organisers of Live 8 presented the "Live 8 List" to the world leaders at the Live 8 call that politicians take action to "Make Poverty History".[2] Names from the list also appeared on the giant televisions at each concert during the broadcast.

An official Live 8 DVD set was released on 7 November 2005 internationally and 8 November 2005 in the United States.

The eagerly awaited new album from Maroon 5, JORDI, is the band’s first since the critically acclaimed Red Pill Blues. The album will include the recently released hit single “Beautiful Mistakes ft. Megan Thee Stallion” as well as fan favorites “Memories” and “Nobody’s Love.”

This time around, a bevy of legendary guests and high-profile friends join Maroon 5. The first release off of the album, “Beautiful Mistakes,” (which is out now), features Megan Thee Stallion. blackbear joins the band on “Echo,” while Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks teams up with the group for “Remedy.” Academy Award winner H.E.R. guests on “Convince Me Otherwise,” and the late Juice WRLD makes a posthumous appearance on “Can’t Leave You Alone.” The album will also include the band’s triple-platinum “Memories” and a “Memories” remix featuring late legend Nipsey Hussle and rapper YG. Up and coming Zimbabwean artist Bantu is also featured on “One Light.”
