..::OPIS::.. Trzeci album niesamowitego zespołu z Argentyny grającego avantgardowy black metal! Following the band's first two instrumental albums, AlphA and Beta, Psicosfera emerges with their third installment, titled Summa Negativa. This album is a predatory plunge into pitch-black darkness of avant-garde black metal. The album illuminates the souls of the damned with its devilish fangs. The new material is a reflection of Psicosfera’s ongoing evolution, driven by ceaseless march of time. With a blend of uncompromising determination and the introduction of vocals, alongside the liberation of an even fiercer facet of the band’s creativity, the new material relentlessly pushes the boundaries beyond their prior instrumental efforts. Spanning their previous two albums, the band absorbed its influences, mastered the emotional depth of those records and honed their craft meticulously. Five years after their second album, the band’s journey has culminated in Summa Negativa, which materializes as a sinister reflection of contemporary darkness, seamlessly morphing the vision of genre’s progenitors into a contemporary realm that is both relentless and audacious. By skillfully weaving dissonance and melody through inventive manipulation, complemented by genuinely dreadful riffs, the album creates an encapsulated universe that embraces the essence of despair, melancholy, aggression, and hostility. Summa Negativa emerges not as a nostalgic reverie, but as a reflection of modern nihilistic void. The darkness, evil, and despair within aren’t mere obligatory components; they mirror the current, profound upheavals of the soul of man. This essence imbues Summa Negativa with unparalleled vitality. As such, Psicosfera’s new album holds the promise of elation - for seekers of evolving flux, for those who embrace musical development - while remaining devotional to the spirit. ..::TRACK-LIST::.. 1. ..::OPIS::.. Reedycja na 25 urodziny! Szósty album AGATHOCLES wydany oryginalnie w 1999 roku. 16 utworów + dwa bonusowe numery z 2000 roku wydane jako split 7"EP z włoskim KONTATTO. Surowy, minimalistyczny noise'owy D-beat punk inspirowany przez takie zespoły jak ABSURD, wczesny DISCHARGE, DISCLOSE, wczesny ANTI CIMEX, D.N.A., BOMBRAID, ANTI-BOFORS, BOMBANFAL, DISASTER, SHITLICKERS. Odświeżona oprawa graficzna oraz liner notes autorstwa Jan'a AGx. I was possitively surpried when I first heard this album. I had almost given up on Agathocles after their inconsistent and rather sloppy "Humarrogance" album but this time the band again knew how to do exactly that which I didn't expect. They've simply recorded a hardcore punk / crustcore album. Their earlier split Ep with Vomit Fall has been a personal favorite and this time they must have though "what the hell, let's release a punk album". The production is heavy but fortunately not too much. There's still plenty of definition in the separate instruments and the performace is suprisingly well. Of course one could complain an album full of just these kind of songs tends to get monotone but it really is over before you even now it. They still change pace a lot on this album if you care to listen closely. Of course the tempi are mostly variations on 'being fast', but hey, it's hardcore punk and there are a lot of different kinds of fast here! There are no real stand out tracks but if I have to name a few, the catchy opener "Bomb the Bastard" and "Who Cares" have become personal favorites. Least favorite song must be "One Sided Views" which has a Celtic Frost break (Morbid Tales) and therefor becomes somewhat annoying. There is however something to complain of course. One thing really. It's the vocals. We all know Jan had tried some different vocals on earlier records and especially his screaming punk voice worked very well on their hardcore punks songs (remember "Get Off You Ass", "Fragments of a time to come" and "Here And Now"?). On this album he mostly uses his grunting vocals and this proves to be something of a bummer. A lot more could have been done vocally on these songs. I wonder why they didn't. If they'd done so, this could have been my second favorite Agathocles album ever Morbert ..::TRACK-LIST::.. 1. Bomb the Bastard 02:28 2. Judged Too Soon 01:27 3. Wage-War 02:11 4. ..::OPIS::.. Przyznam szczerze, że kiedy po wydaniu usłyszałem ten krążek byłem załamany... Po takim debiucie? Jak? Dlaczego? Dzisiaj... Człowiek się jednak starzeje... Although the reason why I decided to revisit Iron Angel’s back catalogue some ten years ago was the release of the awful “Back from Hell” demo, about which the guys should forget faster than Destruction did about their mid-90’s period (yeah, it’s that bad), I was quite glad that I did since it reminded me of how jubilant I was listening to this happy-go-lucky speed metal barrage on the album reviewed here in my teenage years, feeling also content with the fact that I had found “Walls of Jericho”’s little brother, only served with a more mainstream flavour. Although the guys were the first German victims of the mid-80’s transformation campaign (Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc.) towards a mellower poppier sound, they still managed to retain quite a bit of their aggressive swagger that made their debut such a compulsive headbanging fest. The debut was a compelling speed/thrash affair with audible attempts at more individual ways of expression. However, the sophomore here shows an obvious fascination with the mentioned Helloween magnum opus, and it remains its most faithful companion all these years including with the more commercial radio-friendly additives, and not only because of Dick Shroder’s “Kai Hansen meets Udo”-like vocals. The stomping officiant intro that is the title-track abruptly turns into a ball of speed metal fury on “Metalstorm” which couldn’t have been titled more appropriately, a short bursting speedster that almost exemplifies the German speed metal scene in its entirety. “Son of a Bitch” is not an Accept cover, contrary to the expectations, but is a great uplifting power metal anthem with a nearly stadium-filling potential with the rousing shouty chorus and the brisk bouncy rhythms. “Vicious” has a smattering pounding beginning, but after it it’s business as usual the band unleashing a whirlwind of fast lashing guitars turning this number into another shining example of pure speed metal carnage done right. “Born to Rock” has a very clear message from the very title, and this is indeed a fist-pumping heavy rocker worthy of Accept and Scorpions with a staged live setting echoing Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run”. Far from embarrassment, this number remains the only full-fledged probe into the growing pop-metalish aesthetics on the field, and is totally cancelled by “Fight for Your Life”, a vigorous speed/thrash with biting cutting guitars, arguably the band’s finest achievement, offering myriad time and tempo-changes, a shredding fest of epic proportions nearly matched by “Stronger than Steel” which stomping intro reminds of Exciter’s “Scream in the Night” from “Violence & Force”; furious speed metal is thrown at the expectant audience later, a soaring “eagle fly free” cavalcade with the next in line sing-along chorus embedded into the hyper-active melee. “Sea of Flames” serves a tasteful portion of melodic leads as an appetizer which precedes another fast-paced carnival mixed with more laid-back power metal, the melodic hooks appearing later again to wrap it on. “Creatures of Destruction” is a brilliant angry speed metaller the guys raising hell as a logical conclusion to this impressive slab of old school metal which actual finale is the cool short balladic “Back to the Silence” with Schroder showing his more lyrical, more passionate vocal arsenal to a really positive effect. German speed metal couldn’t have come much better than here, and apart from the early Helloween exploits and Living Death’s “Metal Revolution” it’s probably only the first two Scanner instalments that managed to capture the movement’s invigorating charm as profoundly, not siding that readily with the more aggressive thrash-prone debuts of Angel Dust, Exumer and Paradox, and Blind Guardian’s first two. The mentioned friendlier ingredients boded danger for eventual future recordings as one never knew how far the guys would be willing to reach exploring their more tender side. In this train of thought their very early disappearance, one of the earliest in metal history as a matter of fact, may have been for the better cause no one wanted to see prime German speed metallers releasing “Cold Lake” or “Eat the Heat” before those albums were even conceived on the mental plane. The old school resurrection wave brought the Iron Angels back into the game, and although the first showing (the mentioned demo) after the reformation had better be forgotten, the more recent weather forecasts hint at potential strong winds (of war) stirring somewhere in the distance. ..::OPIS::.. Deathless Void to kusząca mieszanka ponurej agresji, majestatycznej melodii i mrocznego nastroju. Zapraszam do mocnej i stosunkowo niezdrowej zabawy... Dutch Black Metal visionaries Deathless Void are set to ignite the global metal scene with the release of their highly anticipated debut album, "The Voluptuous Fire of Sin," out September 20th via Iron Bonehead Productions. Emerging from the resurgent Dutch Black Metal underground, Deathless Void made their enigmatic debut in early 2022 with a self-titled demo that shook the foundations of extreme music. Now, with their full-length debut, the band coagulates their place among the elite of the genre, offering a sonic journey that is as terrifying as it is mesmerizing. Blending familiar Black Metal ferocity with a mind-warping, otherworldly atmosphere, "The Voluptuous Fire Of Sin" is an orgy of flesh-creeping guitar riffs, telluric blast beats, undulating bass frequencies and unhinged screams of berserk ecstasy and demonic fury executed with unprecedented dedication. ..::OPIS::.. "The Voluptuous Fire Of Sin" is a paroxysmal psychedelic vision of mystery, misery, madness, and lust - rejoice in sin, enter the deathless void! https://darksoulsunited.wordpress.com/2024/09/21/deathless-void-the-voluptuous-fire-of-sin-iron-bonehead/ ..::TRACK-LIST::.. 1. Na prośbę... ..::OPIS::.. Infernal War to powstały w 1997 roku (początkowo działał pod nazwami Quintus i Infernal SS) polski zespół wykonujący szybki i brutalny Black Metal z wpływami Death Metalu. Muzycznie mamy tu do czynienia z bardzo szybki i intensywnym (blasty, blasty i jeszcze więcej blastów) Black Metalem z wyraźnymi naleciałościami Death Metalu. ..::OPIS::.. Oszałamiający debiut! CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR are an angry band. "Mechanical Tides" is an angry album full of angry songs. 'Anger is an energy', sounded the battle cry raised by former SEX PISTOLS frontman Johnny Rotten. CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR connected the dots and reviewed the forever undead spirit of original punk with their founding on the Merseyside in 2012. Filling in the blanks left by decades of musical evolution, the quartet added sludge, grind and hardcore elements to their sound. This fistful of aggression was slammed straight into the faces of their adversaries, creating shockwaves with the immediate release of their "Needle Drugs" demo in the year of their founding as well as the 2013 EPs "Luciferian Deathcult" and "Whiskey Sierra", which received a glowing welcome in the UK press. CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR underlined their ambitions with intimidating live shows alongside renowned bands such as BRUTAL TRUTH, PSYCROPTIC, EXTREME NOISE TERROR, HOUR OF PENANCE, and more. Now the band is ready to unleash their first full-length "Mechanical Tides" in a worldwide blaze of fury. Open up for CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR and let the anger flow through you! ..::OPIS::.. Down the Moon” i „Fallen Angel of Doom”. Mamy tu więc totalnie zwierzęce, brutalne ataki, ale też dużo powolnych i transowych (a przy tym wciąż agresywnych i nienawistnych) momentów. Wszystko oczywiście z brudnym i nieludzkim brzmieniem, choć tu akurat moim zdaniem szala przechyla się raczej na rzecz inspiracji Finami niż Kanadyjczykami. A na sam koniec dostajemy trwającego niemal kwadrans w chuj powolnego black/doom metalowego potwora, chyba żeby Was do końca zeszmacić. I jeśli to było zadanie „War with Tyranny”, to w moim przypadku się udało. Niezły kawał smolistego black metalu, mocno osadzonego w najczarniejszym z kultów. Nie wiem jak się rozwinęła muzyka Necromoon w ciągu kolejnych trzech miesięcy, ale możecie być pewni, że sprawdzę, bowiem debiut mocno mnie zainteresował. Oracle No! Dokładnie o to chodziło panie Morgul! This album is a kind of return or tribute to bands from the late 80s and early 90s, especially beherit, sarcofago, blasphemy. It is not a copy or blind imitation, but a capture of the atmosphere of those times. Filthy sound, morbid and possessed vocals, blasphemous invocations, anxiety and pure evil. A total of 37 minutes that perfectly capture the spirit of those times and open the gates of hell. This is what hell should sound like !!! ..::TRACK-LIST::.. 1. Burning Witches 01:40 2. ...SIŁA I PIĘKNO MUZYKI TKWIĄ W JEJ RÓŻNORODNOŚCI
..::OPIS::.. „In dreams and visions I saw the beast rise again.” Blakkheim dba o wartkość akcji, zmienność temp i burzliwość fabuły. Szybkie i ostre blackowe riffy mieszają się z przestrzennymi klawiszowo i akustycznie uspokojeniami, a krzykliwy wokal oddaje pola sporadycznym czystym śpiewom i wielu mówionym kwestiom, które nadają opowieści epickiego i nastrojowego charakteru. Takie „Ravenclaw” czy „The Blazing Demondome Of Murmurs And Secrecy” to są kompozycyjne majstersztyki. W utrzymaniu odpowiedniej atmosfery pomaga też akustyczny numer instrumentalny „Cross The Open Vault And Away…” Zamykając oczy można znaleźć się daleko od rzeczywistości, wśród koszmarnych postaci: „Far away from the light, creatures of the night, ghouls from the gravesite, corpse of the deathrite.” Wujas Second album of haunting, atmospheric black metal from Katatonia’s Anders Nystrom. “…it’s obvious that we have another Diabolical masterpiece here” – The Metal Observer Diabolical Masquerade was the solo-project launched by Katatonia mastermind Anders Blackheim Nyström. The Phantom Lodge was the second of four albums from this symphonic Extreme Metal solo-project, and was originally released in 1997. Diabolical Masquerade was based primarily around symphonic/melodic black metal. Strong atmospheres were created through layered guitar and keyboards (and notably, flute, on this album), and Blackheim’s compositions contained more up tempo and extreme elements than those of Katatonia. I am honoured to add my review of this album, since I came to a point where I finally felt like I understood it. My opinion on Blackheims second release may be different from others, but I know most of you will agree with what I am to say. Ravendusk in my Heart was an album that I didn’t pay much attention to (as much as the rest of his releases in other words). It wasn’t really the album I liked most, and I must say that Blackheims style and skill has evolved. In The Phantom Lodge, the tunes hypnotized me at once. I felt more vicious beauty in the music, the tunes where cleaner and it wasn’t as “chaotic” as the previous release. I would call it more of a melodic sound with more power-metal influences. The guitar riffs neither sound better nor worse, but the music itself has more effects and keyboards involved, which gives the feeling of a wider environment as you listen to it. The environment that is built inside you can sometimes make you feel calm and comfortable, but when you think of it, every single piece of what is drilled into your ears and soul is madness. The drums are quite simple, but it doesn’t bother me at all as long as it fits. Dan Swanö is impressive as usual, and the balance between guitars and drums is very neutral. Black metal “singing” is always a hard to figure out whether it’s good or bad. But I think Diabolical Masquerade is of my favourites when it comes to that. I think of all the trouble I’ve had when I listened to Burzum for a bad example. DM’s lyrics are very mysterious and spiritual and it fits perfectly into the music. Some may say that listening to Diabolical Masquerade is a good thing because the true feeling is brought to you by the music, and the lyrics are just an effect of darkness and evil. I can agree with that to a certain point, but the lyrics are sometimes very important. I like the lyrics especially in Cloaked By The Moonshine Mist, which is also a very impressive mixture of beautiful and evil tunes. I will end this review by saying that The Phantom Lodge isn’t much of a beginner’s choice when it comes to Diabolical Masquerade, but it's still a masterpiece that you can't miss. ..::OPIS::.. Debiutancki album nowego zespołu założonego przez Dopi'ego (MACHETAZO, LEPROPHILIAC, MUTILATED VETERANS, PREMATURE BURIAL, RUINEBELL, ex-BODYBAG, ex-DEADMASK, ex-DISHAMMER...) oraz eksperymentalnego/freejazz'owego perkusistę Avelino Saavedra (ex-MOL). 11 utworów ekstremalnego grindcore'a inspirowanego takimi zespołami jak TERRORIZER, BRUTAL TRUTH, D.R.I., THE ACCÜSED. Mastering to dzieło jedynego w swoim rodzaju Jasona Fullera (BLOOD DUSTER) w australiskim Goatsound Studios. W rezultacie powstało sześć utworów inspirowanych Terrorizer, Brutal Truth, D.R.I., The Accüsed oraz pięć zgrzytliwych interludiów będących pokłosiem najbardziej kompulsywnych i ekstremalnych pasaży autorstwa Johna Zorna. Deathcontrol to dwóch, od dawna znających się ze sceny panów, którzy po latach postanowili nagrać coś na luzie i co by nawiązywało do starych czasów. Jednym z nich jest były muzyk Machetazo więc już wiecie czego mniej więcej można spodziewać się po „The Endless Echo Of His Own Litany”. Polecam, ponieważ to świetne grzanie z Hiszpanii. shub niggurath Debut full length of the new band by Dopi (MACHETAZO, LEPROPHILIAC, MUTILATED VETERANS, PREMATURE BURIAL, RUINEBELL, ex-BODYBAG, ex-DEADMASK, ex-DISHAMMER...) and experimental musician / free jazz drummer Avelino Saavedra (ex-MOL). 11 songs of extreme grindcore influenced by TERRORIZER, BRUTAL TRUTH, D.R.I., THE ACCÜSED. Mastering was carried out by the one and only Jason Fuller (BLOOD DUSTER) at Goatsound studios in Australia. DEATHCONTROL was born from the joining of forces of J.M.Dopico and Avelino Saavedra. They are both from the city of La Coruña, in Galicia, Spain and have known each other since the early nineties, the golden age of Hardcore, Crossover, Grindcore, Thrash and Death Metal. In those days Dopi was the drummer for Frustradicción and later for the legendary band Machetazo, while Avelino put his drumsticks at the service of the hardcore band Mol. Then each one went down different paths, although with the common points of both continuing in the most underground scene and rejecting the mainstream. Dopi remained faithful to the most putrid, distorted and extreme music, forming different projects such as Bodybag, Premature Burial or Leprophiliac, among others, while Avelino, after having played very different styles such as Jazz, Latin Jazz, African music, Rock of all kinds , etc , led to more “experimental” ways of making music, such as free improvisation, free Jazz, collaborations for dance and theater, etc, which are what he is currently focused on. Both had been talking for a long time about doing something together and from this mix of life experiences DEATHCONTROL emerged, a project conceived from a distance, since they both currently live on opposite ends of Spain. What they were clear about was that they wanted to make music with references to those bygone times, direct, aggressive music, with hardly any post-production, as natural and authentic as possible. Dopi recorded the guitars over click tracks, sent them to Avelino, who recorded the drums and in turn he sent them back so that the former could incorporate the bass and vocals. The result was six structured songs, with their corresponding lyrics, highly influenced by classic bands such as Terrorizer, Brutal Truth, D.R.I., The Accüsed... and five interludes of pure sick noise with an aftertaste of the craziest and most extreme passages of John Zorn's Naked City or Painkiller. Guitars, bass and vocals were recorded by Paco Liaño at Treboada studios, drums were recorded by Avelino at Önilewaland studios, where he was also in charge of the mixing. Mastering was carried out by the one and only Jason Fuller (ex-Blood Duster) at Goatsound studios in Australia. On the graphic side, Dopi was in charge of the logo design and layout, while Avelino created the interior illustrations and the cover. 1. Controlled, Indoctrinated And Brainwashed 01:01 2. On the graphic side, Dopi was in charge of the logo design and layout, while Avelino created the interior illustrations and the cover. ..::TRACK-LIST::.. 1. ..::OPIS::.. Trzeci studyjny album Devin Townsend. Całkowicie nowa edycja wydana z okazji 25-tej rocznicy premiery z zaktualizowaną okładką i dodatkowymi utworami. I just got this album. No, I didn't just buy it, I just understood it...after so long of trying to comprehend it...I get it. And lo and behold, it is beautiful and amazing and majestic and badass and awe-inspiring and divine. Add another five star rating to Devin Townsend from me; this one is one of the most amazing releases ever. While Terria feels like the story of the earth, Ocean Machine the story of the ocean, and Synchestra the story of all things good in life, this album is the story of the soul of mankind in relation to god. Yes, I will overinterprete that much. Maybe if you ever love this album as much as I do, you'll do the same. The journey of the human soul in it's purest and most raw form through life, that's what this is. From the birth to the midlife crisis to the calm at the end of life, this has it all. This is an epic voyage through life and the way god made the human soul. The album opens up with the most majestic and amazing piece of music I've ever heard, simply entitled Truth. From the opening riff, you can tell it's gonna be majestic. Then Devy comes in with his high yells over those crazy guitar riffs, then everything turns perfect, and oh man, words cannot describe how perfect this song is. The absolute best opener ever. This is the revelation; the awakening; the birth of the soul, and all it is screaming is "OH HELL YES I AM ALIVE AND IT FEELS ****ING GREAT! HALLELUJAH!" You can feel that being cried out all throughout. Amazing. Truth turns into Christeen, easily the most accessible song on the album. It's more or less a pop rock song with tons of Devy-isms (such as lots of layering and odd touches everywhere). Great great song, lots of fun. This song, I feel, talks of early life, where the soul is free and full of life, and trying to find love, and looking optimistic and happy and finding love, even if there is none. The soul believes there is. Happy upbeat song to represent a happy and upbeat soul. Next comes probably the most recognizable song on here from Devy fans, which is Bad Devil. This is essentially a big band rock song with awesome organ and a nice shuffle feel all throughout. There's a nice trombone solo interlude halfway through with finger snaps, a jazz keyboard solo. Good singing, and good drumming. What a fun song this is, haha. This song is when the soul gets older, around the teen years, where a person starts to learn of the risky and risque things in life...all the dark sides. It flirts with the dark side though, much like many teenagers. It hasn't been fully imbraced anything bad, but it knows it is all there. Following Bad Devil is another fan favorite, War. This has a shuffle feel as well, except slower. This is a little repetitive, but in no way bad at all. good vocals and lyrics, and the ending is very interesting. And how about that "doo-wap wawap, doo-wap wawap" section in the middle? Awesome. The end is kinda a preview for how weird the album is about to get, I think. This song I feel like is college years to about 25 years, where some hope for love is there, but it's more the soul is searching, trying to balance and stabilize their lives in the hectic life a young person leads...everything is being shoved on the soul and it screaming, "I DON'T WANT YOUR WAR!". Next is Soul Driven, the first really "out there" song on the album. It's got a very majestic riff around it. It requires all the listener's effort to get anything out of it that's worth noting, and I still haven't gotten all of it. I have picked up on enough to love it though. It's super majestic all throughoutand the way Devy uses his voice is super cool. Something worth noting at 3:50-4:00 is that a melody from Stravisnky's Rite of Spring comes in softly and plays out a little bit. This is the part right before the deep voice comes in. It's just a real cool touch. I feel like this is the first breakdown of the soul, screaming out to whatever the soul worships and believes in, screaming, "WHAT THE ****?! THIS IS LIFE? HELP ME!". A cry to whatever one believes in. And the end I had trouble putting meaning to, but I feel like maybe it's saying how after this breakdown, life goes on as normal, frantic and whatnot for simple things, and the weird pop techno feel of what Devy is singing is how life happily goes on without you, breakdown or not. Ants is next, and it is INSANE! You can almost see tons of little ants scurrying around to accomplish whatever they gotta do. So much layering here, it must have taken forever to produce. This song revolves around the frantic meaningless insanity of the human life and soul around 30...do the laundry! Make money! Make more money! It represents the soul running around like crazy trying to live, and they really have to go nuts to survive. Wild Colonial Boy is another very good song. It takes some getting used to, as it's different in feel even for this album. This just feels like Devy is messing around a bit. Thus...it's not up to par with the rest of the album, but it's still good, and I like listening to it out of sequence with the rest of the album. If I had to interpret this...it's the soul quietly on the side during the bussle of life, trying to say it still has some of that carefree freedom that we saw in Christeen...it's just muffled by the formality and retardedness of life. This is around age 40-50 now. Dynamics is similar to Soul Driven, just done better and with a much nicer beginning. I like this song quite a bit...I mean, I already liked Soul Driven, and this is just a super-buffed up version of that song. The last three minutes absolutely tear my head off...this is the climax of the album, the last three minutes of this album. It's as hardcore and emotional and majestic as possible. This song is the second and final breakdown, starting to reach nearer to the end of your life, and saying..."My life has been one crazy as hell ride...holy CRAP! I'M ALIVE, BUT I'M LOST I'M LOST I'M LOST IN THIS CRAZY ****ING WORLD." It's another cry to god, more of a cry of asking what my life has been about, and the insanity of it all, and how nothing feels real and so on. The final screaming at the end of this song is the true climax of this album. It sums up the feel so well...just a mighty scream at the behemoth that is life. Unity is the end of your life. It is the relaxing, the calming down..."I''m ok now...I'll make it, through this damned life of mine...it's almost over, and I'll enjoy what I have. It's alright...I'm home." I always feel like this is the grandparent stage of life, watching your kids grow, your grandkids, and just being happy for them, and relaxing yourself after working hard through the insanity all your life. It's a very peaceful song that could cheer anyone up. Wonderful relaxing feel. The end grows, symbolising how life is still insane, but the original peaceful melody and feel stays intact. Because it's alright. The soul is at peace. The song ends with a minute of silence..the fade out into death. But a peaceful fade out. Such a nice song, it's a little repetitive but so pretty I don't care at all. In fact it's one of my favorite songs on the whole allbum. Noisy Pink Bubbles is plenty of fun, it's kinda a stoner-ish song, which is ok. It's well-done, and starts with some real funky stuff going on. The second half is more interesting yet. I can't even describe it or draw up comparisons, like I can't for most of this album because there's nothing else like it. It kinda has a Pink Floyd feel to it, almost. This doesn't fit into the story, because the story is over. So basically, this album breaks down into two halves: the first four songs, which are the more accessible and more satisfying songs, and the next five having more focus on crazy layering and a rather divine feel. So divine the listener might not enjoy them, actually. But they are divine. For audio buffs a most here, and for anyone with patience, they will reward you greatly. Then...Noisy Pink Bubbles is in a class of its own. I guess I more told of my interpretation of the album than anhything else, heh. But that's ok...just know it's a masterpiece. Very difficult to get into...very difficult. Thus, I wouldn't be surprised to see many people hate it. Those who get it, however...will not regret it. FishyMonkey The Canadian guitarist and vocalist Devin TOWNSEND is a very original musician. His career took off in 1992 when he got the honourable opportunity to sing on Steve Vai's "Sex and Religion" album. His own compositions are truly original and you probably won't find any other artists with Devin's approach to the music. He's a brilliant guitarist as well as vocalist, and his music is often very complex and experimental. Some may find the distorted sound that is very present on this album quite disturbing, but if you're familiar with, and enjoy bands such as FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, PEACE, LOVE & PITBULLS, MINISTRY and SKINNY PUPPY, you'll probably enjoy this album, even if it's quite not comparable to these bands. But if you're mixing the aforementioned bands with Adrian BELEW, PpZ30, SLAYER, Steve VAI and Frank ZAPPA, you're quite close to how it sounds. Some songs may sound like a massive noise if you're taking a quick listening, but if you're listening closely you'll hear that there's a melody behind it all. Then there's the other songs that are catchy and almost commercial (Christeen), groovy (Bad Devil), funny (Ants), power ballad-ish (Wild Colonial Boy) and beautiful dreamy (Unity). As you can see there's a lot of variation to the material, so you won't get bored with this album in a long time. A very interesting album that will grow on you with each listening. Highly recommended! Greger ..::TRACK-LIST::.. CD1: 1. Truth 03:58 2. Christeen 03:41 3. Bad Devil 04:52 4. War 06:29 5. Soul Driven Cadillac 05:14 6. Ants 02:01 7. Wild Colonial Boy 03:04 8.
