One of the most original rock bands of the world level - in what status the Texas bearded men ZZ Top have been staying since the mid-70s - for almost 39 years of their professional career has not had a single authorized concert video. This is all the more surprising for the group, with the understanding of the 80s video attack that met the onset. But, quite in the style of ZZ Top, fans should be prepared for surprises - the first information about this digital release was leaked to the profile media only in July. ?Live From Texas?, filmed and edited from one concert last November at the Nokia Theater in Dallas, really came as a surprise. And without the usual musical tales for ZZ Top, the band?s leader, guitarist and singer Billy F. Gibbons asserts quite seriously that ?we had learned about shooting the concert two days before it?. In fact, this statement masks the rarely realized fact that, despite all its glory and the material circumstances surrounding it, as well as the constant accusations that the group has long since become an icon of corporate rock, the Texas trinity has remained a folk band in the best sense of the word - or, if we reformulate this definition for the southern states, the largest small blues-rock band in the world. The fact that the ZZ Top is a blues band is no discovery for those familiar with the band?s work before 1983. The material?s performance is staggering, especially since at the concert presented at Live From Texas the band intentionally does not use redundant sound processing even presented here plays "MTV era" 1983-1985. - Rough Boy, Gimme All Your Lovin ?, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs. The dampish sound of the naturally overloaded Gibson Trio guitars is most to the face. Feeling the audience focused on the basic values ??of blues rock, the musicians build a concert program on the ?root? hits of 1973-1981. and extremely minimize the stage show - the split screen, which serves as a backing for the group, does not engage to the maximum and does not seek to distract the public from its music and themselves loved ones. Wild stage costumes, synchronized movements of Billy and bassist Dusty Hill and the alleged equanimity of drummer Frank Byrd were not invented yesterday, but reconciled over the years - and yet this whole concert minimalism looks extremely fresh and natural ...
