Screaming Headless Torsos have injected the jazz fusion scene with a much-needed new energy, after guitarist David Fuze Fiuczynski's revitalization of the genre with his 1996 album "Lunar Crush". He joins forces with the extraordinary vocalist Dean Bowman, and a rhythm section comprised of Fima Ephron (bass), Daniel Sadownick (percussion), and Gene Lake (drums) to deliver the group's signature combination of jazz with heavy riffs and ambient sound on "Live In New York & Paris". This 2 DVD set of two legendary, sold-out performances is professionally shot, recorded, and mixed. The concerts were held at New York City's Knitting Factory in 1996, and New Morning in Paris, 2004.

To, i mówię to bez wahania, najważniejszy album w muzyce chilijskiej i jeden z najważniejszych albumów w muzyce latynoamerykańskiej. Los Jaivas, w samym środku dyktatury w Chile, wchłonęli cały wpływ progresywnej i psychodelicznej muzyki ruchu hipisowskiego z końca lat 60. i początku 70., mieszając ją z muzyką latynoamerykańską, szczególnie chilijską, boliwijską i peruwiańską.

Odrzucili utarty temat krytyki dyktatury (bardzo aktualny i aktualny w tamtym czasie) i skupili się bardziej na czymś kulturowym. Trudno to opisać, ale na tym albumie udało im się stworzyć migawkę kultury prekolumbijskiej i obraz tego, co nam pozostawili. Mówię „pozostawili nas”, ale w rzeczywistości jest to cały nasz system konsumpcji, w którym ludzie są marginalizowani na rzecz bardziej utylitarnego podejścia. Lubię jednak myśleć, że w sercu każdego człowieka, głęboko w jego umyśle, pozostaje coś z tej natury: prawdziwa ludzka natura, szacunek dla ziemi i tego, co nam daje, koleżeństwo, radość z życia takim, jakie jest, i tęsknota za szczęściem dzielonym ze wszystkimi, bez poczucia absurdalnej rywalizacji.

Jak mawiają w starożytnej Ameryce: „Kamień na kamieniu, gdzie był człowiek? Powietrze na powietrzu, gdzie był człowiek? Czas, czas, gdzie był człowiek?”. I to prawda! Nie ma nas nigdzie. Kiedy cała nasza cywilizacja zniknie, nasze wieżowce, nasze instytucje finansowe, nasze banknoty itd. znikną. Natura pochłonie wszystko, a my znów staniemy się z nią jednością.

October 26, 2024 saw MOONSPELL performing their first-ever symphonic show, dubbed “Opus Diabolicum”, at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city.

The band made history at this unforgettable live event, adding another magnificent chapter to both metal music made in Portugal and their very own legacy. Now, a year later, this monumental event can be yours to view anytime, available in DVD/Blu-ray, 2-CD, Black and Colored Vinyl and Digital formats via Napalm Records on October 31, 2025.

On Opus Diabolicum, the band revisits their classics and their bombastic album 1755 at a one-off, exclusive show and their biggest production to date. The heavy metallic power of the dark metal pioneers meets the classical magnitude of the 45-piece Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra – one of Portugal’s finest orchestras – conducted by maestro Vasco Pearce de Azevedo!

A new video clip for the MOONSPELL anthem, “Vampiria”, is premiering today below. Captured live at the “Opus Diabolicum” show, it’s a haunting tribute to the gothic roots of MOONSPELL, that now rises once more in full symphonic glory, unleashing dramatic orchestration and vampiric grandeur like never before!

Frontman Fernando Ribeiro comments:
“‘VAMPIRIA’ is a Moonspell classic, as old as time itself. It was a first choice for us because it’s actually one of the most remarkable arrangements of the whole show, which granted new blood and life (aren’t they the same?) to a timeless, eternal song. See it risen from the dead with your own eyes, after ‘travelling oceans of time’

“I have never been the one to push MOONSPELL into an orchestral direction“, Ribeiro admits.

“I mean, like any fan, I can recognise the impact Classical had over Heavy Metal (Quorthon, from Bathory, used to quote Wagner as his favourite “band”) and in my musical collection Mussorgsky, Prokofiev and Ravel, could be found, shoulder to shoulder with the aforementioned Bathory, Celtic Frost, Sarcófago or Maiden. But, I wasn’t a fan of the metal meets orchestra efforts myself and when I approached Jaime (Gomez Arellano) to mix this beast, I asked him: have you heard S&M and other “live with an orchestra” metal bands albums? We want nothing like that!

This is work of passion: truly the work of the devil (opus diabolicum): imperfect, unprocessed, untamed. A release made by friends to all the friends we have around this goth forsaken world and that in an arena in Lisbon or in a sweaty club in Texas, keep the spell going, until we are no more.”

Zdążyli podbić światek alternatywy, zastukać do drzwi radiowego mainstreamu (kochają ich brytyjskie BBC, amerykańskie NPR, polska „Trójka”), nawiedzić kino („Vanilla Sky” i „127 godzin”) oraz telewizję (seriale „CSI” i „24 Godziny”, a także multum reklam kopiujących ich brzmienie). Następnie pozwolili liderowi Jónsiemu rozwinąć działalność solową i dopiero po tym wszystkim – ponad dekadę po rozpoczęciu kariery globalnej i siedemnaście lat po debiucie w ojczyźnie – islandzki kwartet Sigur Rós wydaje pierwszy należyty album koncertowy.

„Inni” to wierny zapis występu grupy w londyńskim Alexandra Palace w 2008 roku. Materiał sprawiedliwie wypożyczono ze wszystkich pięciu płyt studyjnych w tym z najważniejszego w ich dorobku „Ágætis byrjun”. Są więc tutaj indie-przeboje „Svefn-g-englar” oraz „Ný batterí”. Jest także niewydana wcześniej nigdzie piosenka „Lúppulagið”, której obecność dała fanom nadzieję na to, że przedłużający się urlop zespołu nie oznacza jeszcze emerytury – i rzeczywiście właśnie zapowiedzieli na maj premierę nowego longplaya „Valtari”.

Wszystkie utwory zaaranżowali surowo, tak jakby z przypisywanej im stylistyki – post-rocka – próbowali usunąć słowo „post”. Mimo szorstkiego instrumentarium i minorowych tonacji „Inni” raczej na duchu podnosi niż dołuje. I w tym paradoksie – żeby zakończyć obowiązkową aluzją do tytułu – Sigur Rós po raz kolejny demonstrują swoją inność.

Nowe wydawnictwo szczecińskiej formacji, która przypomina się fanom płytą koncertową uzupełnioną dyskiem DVD. To dwupłytowe wydawnictwo wydane w postaci digipaku powinno zadowolić każdego kto pamięta najstarsze hity grupy, a jednocześnie ma ochotę zapoznać się z tym co Kolaboranci szykują na przyszłość. Nowy, studyjny krążek zespołu już czeka na wydanie i dotrze do fanów w pierwszej połowie przyszłego roku, a obecnie grupa świętuje swoje 25-lecie podsumowując je dwupłytowym albumem "My tu stoimy" i koncertem 'Kolabonight 2011', który odbędzie się 8 października 2011 w szczecińskim klubie Słowianin (patrz dział koncertowy i informacje na stronie głównej serwisu Jimmy Jazz Records).

Szczecińscy Kolaboranci powstali w 1986 roku i przez niemal dekade byli jednym z tych zespołów, które kształtowały wizerunek polskiej sceny niezależnej. Pierwotnie zainspirowani dokonaniami Dezertera nie byli jedynie naśladowcami szybko wypracowując własny, niepodrabialny styl, zręcznie poruszając się między punk rockiem i hardcore-punkiem, zdobywając sobie uznanie publiczności, której nie wystarczają proste i łatwe piosenki.
Po okresie samodzielnego publikowania własnych nagrań, w okresie 1990-1995 grupa szybko dorobiła się czterech cenionych do dziś albumów wydanych przez firmy Arston, Universal i MTJ. W tym czasie Kolaboranci stali się wylęgarnia muzycznych talentów, a byli muzycy zespołu przewinęli się przez wiele istotnych projektów (Wilki, Albert Rosenfield, Dum-Dum) i do dzisiaj stanowią o wizerunku krajowej sceny rockowej występując w takich formacjach jak Hey, Dezerter czy Indios Bravos. Paradoksalnie fakt ten zaważył na losach grupy, która zawiesiła działalność w 1995 roku.

Zespół wznowił ją w roku 2006 jednak rok później musiał zaprzestać aktywności ze względu na kłopoty zdrowotne Przemysława Thiele, lidera i jedynego oryginalnego członka grupy.

Kolaboranci powrócili ponownie na scenę w roku 2009 zaliczając kolejne udane koncerty i myśląc o tym, aby z jednej strony przypomnieć się swojej starej publiczności, a z drugiej sprowokować zainteresowanie młodszych słuchaczy. W takich razach najlepszym posunięciem wydaje się zawsze wydanie płyty. Decyzją muzyków będzie to album koncertowy zatytułowany „My Tu Stoimy”, a wydawcą będzie szczecińska wytwórnia Jimmy Jazz Records, która przed laty wydała już pierwszy album zespołu w wersji kasetowej.

Przemysław Thiele: - Nie znoszę płyt koncertowych (z drobnymi wyjątkami), ale w ten sposób moglibyśmy nakarmić zgłodniały lud i załatwić przy okazji płytę w stylu "The Best of". Nasze starania finansowo wsparło Miasto Szczecin. Zacząłem organizować zaplecze techniczne oraz przekonywać opornych kolegów. Wydawca zaczął podpowiadać, że do takich pomysłów potrzebne są, co najmniej, dwa koncerty, z których potem można skompilować zestaw optymalny. Uparłem się i uwierzyłem, że wystarczy jeden. Stało się - nagrania powstały. Zagraliśmy wszystkie najważniejsze piosenki dokładając do tego coś z moich solowych kawałków plus dwa nowe utwory.

Na krążku „My tu stoimy” Kolaboranci postanowili przypomnieć się nie tylko muzycznie ale także wizualnie czemu służy pomysł uzupełnienia płyty audio dyskiem DVD. Na jej zawartość składają się fragmenty koncertu podczas którego nagrano płytę, archiwalia (fragmenty dawnych występów, video klipy) i krótki film o zespole. W ten sposób fani otrzymają podwójne wydawnictwo doskonale łączące przeszłość z teraźniejszością Kolaborantów.
