Regardless of how compatible this music is to your tastes, Christ--the Album is a great auditory epic of punk, politics, and protest. On each successive album Crass became less of a conventional punk band and more of a balls-out artistic unit. From the beginning, their albums were unconfined by the pressures of commercial appeal and conventional structure. Christ is a Dadaist collage of noise and statement: the utmost expression of the Crass project of multimedia agitprop. Without doubt, this hour-and-a-half monster is sprawling and disorienting. Like all other Crass albums though, this one engages the audience on more than a few levels and refuses to let go.

The first half is a basically a complete studio album in the Crass tradition of snarling belligerence towards church, state, patriarchy, and pretty much everything else. Unfortunately, this batch of songs isn't the best I've heard by the band. It's good Crass if you like the band, but there are no 'White Punks on Hope' or 'Banned From the Roxy'-caliber tracks. Each song commences with an audio clip with some ironic weight and then goes on to blast anarcho-punk venom for two or three minutes.

The second half is a whack-ass compilation of mostly live material and some spooky studio stuff with a liberal sprinkling of weird sound clips for good measure. The rendition of 'Big A Little A' and the early track 'I Can't Stand It' have always been the most engaging for me, but the other tracks are a fascinating/confounding ride through a production studio gone haywire.

I suspect Christ the Album is as close to the Ludovico Technique that a pop album will ever reach. Like all Crass albums, it simply is what it is. They don't care if you like this album or not, and they probably don't even want you to like it either. This just happens to be the largest slice of the anti-art pie that Crass so lovingly baked in the early-80's.

Compiled at Southern Studios throughout the recording of Christ - the main body is a 4-track recordig made on 9th June 1981 by the Real Time Music at the 100 Club, London. Voice-over on the track 1 is by Mitch of the now defunct Radio Caroline. One Hand is adapted from a traditional Zen tale. Track 9 which includes Heart-throb Of The Mortuary and track 19 I Can't Stand It were our first efforts in a studio, whose name none of us can remember, recorded in the summer of 1977. Heart-throb was later played on a pirate radio station (whose name we also can't remember) and it was from this broadcast that the track is taken. Heart-throb and I Can't Stand It include Steve Hermann who, before being replaced by Phil Free, was our lead guitarist. Track 18 includes a cassette recording of the band live at Action Space in Central London on November 16, 1977.

This re-issue has been re-mastered from the original tapes and includes additional out-takes and a second disc featuring the live recording of their June 1981 gig at the 100 Club in London along with other studio tracks, demos, radio broadcasts and cassette recordings.

Joy Division – brytyjski zespół rockowy założony w 1976 w Salford, Greater Manchester. Wykształcił się z punkowej grupy Warsaw, grał posępną, refleksyjną muzykę. Ostatecznie jego styl muzyczny zaklasyfikowano do post punka i nowej fali. W 1980 roku, po śmierci wokalisty Iana Curtisa grupa rozwiązała się. Pozostali członkowie utworzyli wówczas formację New Order. Closer to druga płyta, po Unknown Pleasures, a zarazem ostatnia (po samobójstwie Iana Curtisa byli członkowie Joy Division utworzyli zespół o nazwie New Order). Album miał się ukazać 8 maja 1980 r., ale trafił do sklepów w lipcu, po śmierci wokalisty i na krótko przed planowaną trasą po Stanach Zjednoczonych. Closer dostał się do Top Ten w Wielkiej Brytanii. Producentem płyty był Martin Hannett, a album wydano w wytwórni płytowej Factory Records. Okładka została zaprojektowana przez Martyna Atkinsa i Petera Salville’a, wykorzystano fotografię autorstwa Bernarda Pierre'a Wolfa. Zdjęcie przedstawia grobowiec rodziny Appiani, który mieści się na Cimitero Monumentale di Staglieno w Genui we Włoszech.

OPIS
DEFEKT M Powstał w 1981 w Wałbrzychu pod nazwą Bunt. W 1982 muzycy zmienili nazwę na Defekt Muzgó.
W tym czasie grupę tworzyli: wokalista Wojciech „Walec” Walczyk, gitarzysta Tomasz „Siwy” Wojnar, basista Piotr Bojan
oraz Krzysztof „Heban” Migdał. W 1983 zespół po raz pierwszy wystąpił na festiwalu w Jarocinie prezentując się szerszej publiczności.
Dwa lata później odszedł Walczyk – jego obowiązki przejął wówczas Wojnar. Grupa jako trio kontynuowała działalność grając w tym okresie
szereg koncertów w różnych miastach (m.in. ponownie w Jarocinie w 1987 i 1988).W 1988 ukazał się pierwszy album zespołu
Defekt Mózgu, będący zapisem koncertów z Wałbrzychu,Jarocina,Legnicy, oraz jednego utworu z demo, pochodzącego z 1984 roku.

SEDES Powstał w 1980 we wrocławskiej dzielnicy Krzyki. Jego założycielami byli: wokalista Jan „Młody” Siepiela,
gitarzysta Adam „Kucharz” Zalewski (wcześniej grający na perkusji w zespole Zwłoki), perkusista Mariusz „Kajtek” J
aniak oraz grający na gitarze basowej „Kufel”. Ten ostatni wkrótce opuścił zespół, a jego funkcję przejął „Młody”.
Jako trio zespół zaczął grać koncerty biorąc udział m.in. w przeglądzie „Muzyczny Start” we wrocławskim Parku Południowym.

Postanowiliśmy powrócić do swoich korzeni i odświeżyć, albo odkryć na nowo 15 wybranych kompozycji, które pochodzą z naszych pierwszych czterech albumów, opublikowanych jeszcze w XX wieku. Współczesne aranżacje oraz wykonanie utworów w całkowicie odmiennym składzie owocuje świeżym życiem i oddechem dla tych mocno już "oldschoolowych" dźwięków.

Cały materiał przygotowaliśmy oraz nagraliśmy w płockim FL Studio Konrada Wojdy i musimy jednoznacznie przyznać, że efekt finalny jest dla nas - jako twórców - w 100% satysfakcjonujący. Większość kawałków z "Pieśni XX wieku" znajdzie się w koncertowej setliście naszych urodzinowych koncertów.

OPIS
Rejestracja (Rejestracja Przedpoborowych lub Rejestracja P.P.) – polski zespół punkrockowy.
Powstał w 1980 roku w Toruniu założony przez basistę Sławomira Kapłunowa, gitarzystę Lecha Jarockiego, perkusistę Tomasza Siatkę i wokalistę Grzegorza Sakerskiego.
Muzycy zadebiutowali w toruńskim klubie "Od Nowa" w 1981 roku, prezentując publiczności materiał z pogranicza punka i nowej fali. W tym czasie Jarockiego zastąpił
Zbigniew Cołbecki, a zespół trafił pod opiekę Waldemara Rudzieckiego (ówczesnego kierownika "Od Nowy"), którego kontakty pozwoliły w przyszłości organizować koncerty
dla zespołu w wielu miastach Polski. Pierwszy występ, który przykuł uwagę szerszej publiczności miał miejsce w listopadzie 1981 roku na Drugim Toruńskim Przeglądzie
Muzyki Nowofalowej. Po wprowadzeniu stanu wojennego w grudniu 1981 roku zespół zawiesił działalność do marca następnego roku.
Wówczas w miejsce Cołbeckiego (utworzył grupę Bikini), zaangażowano Tomasza Murawskiego. Z Murawskim Rejestracja przedstawiła krótkie utwory
w stylu hardcore (m.in. "Darmowe wczasy", "Nowa generacja"). Zespół w tym czasie występował m.in. w Poznaniu, Gdańsku, Warszawie, Bydgoszczy zyskując
coraz większą sławę i tym samym rzesze fanów. Latem 1982 roku muzycy zakwalifikowali się na festiwal w Jarocinie.

We wrześniu zespół dokonał nagrań w studiu Radia Studenckiego "Klub Morski" przy Uniwersytecie Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu,
które później rozprowadzane były na koncertach (nagrania realizował Wojtek Poza).

OPIS
Mija prawie osiem lat, odkąd powstała pierwsza część Na zawsze punk. Rekord okazał się sukcesem. Okazało się, że przypominanie ludziom czasami zapomnianych zespołów,
które wcześniej odgrywały ważną rolę na polskiej scenie punkowej, miało sens. Powiedziano nam, że powinniśmy rozwijać ten projekt. W międzyczasie nastąpiły zmiany personalne
w naszym zespole i zaczęliśmy myśleć o nowym materiale. Wtedy właśnie ktoś wpadł na pomysł, by wydać Na zawsze punk 2.
Zespołów było bardzo dużo - przesłuchaliśmy setki kaset, odwiedziliśmy dziesiątki stron, odświeżyliśmy wspomnienia. Ostatecznie wybraliśmy 20 zespołów,
których utworów możecie posłuchać na tej płycie. Te fragmenty są wciąż aktualne. Na zawsze punk 2 charakteryzują się głównie utworami pesymistycznymi.
Wybraliśmy te utwory, ponieważ stanowią „odbicie” naszych czasów. Świat staje się coraz bardziej radykalny, a punki zawsze dyskutowały o sprawach trudnych i niewygodnych.
Co najważniejsze - ludzkie czyny są powtarzalne. Dzięki temu utwory punkowe zawsze będą dla nas uniwersalne i aktualne.
