Ed avevamo gli occhi troppo belli (And We Had Too Beautiful Eyes) is live album by Italian singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André. It was released in 2001 by A/Rivista Anarchica,[ an Italian anarchist magazine of which De André was a reader and supporter. It mainly consists of recordings of short speeches, which the singer used to make during his concerts.
"Elogio della Solitudine": De André talks about how solitude can sometimes allow people to better analyze life problems and get in contact with everything that surrounds them.
"Prinçesa e i Rom": a speech about how solitude can also derive from being considered "different" by others. Examples of "different" people are the transsexual Prinçesa, the main character of one of De André's songs, and the Romani people.
"Al fianco degli indiani": as an introduction to the song "Fiume Sand Creek", the speech revolves around the sufferings of Native Americans since Christopher Columbus' arrival in 1492.
"Se ti tagliassero a pezzetti" is a song contained in De André's 1981 eponymous album.
"Ai figli della luna": a speech about homosexuals. The title refers to how Plato defined homosexuals.
"Le maggioranze": introduction to the song "Smisurata preghiera" where De André talks about how majorities too often rely on their number to oppress minorities.
"Un discorso sulla libertà": the singer ultimately defines his last album (Anime salve) to be not just about ostracized minorities, but "a speech about freedom".
"I Carbonari" is De André's rendition of the song used in the 1969 Italian movie Nell'anno del Signore, directed by Luigi Magni.

Fabrizio De Andre's narrative talent and sharp irony show even in his earliest songs.
His language is terse and insightful like that of such chanteurs as Leonard Cohen and Georges Brassens, whom he often translated. (He also contrived his own rendition of Edgar Lee Masters' "Spoon River".) The music usually refers immediately to the Italian tradition, from the waltz to the ballad: no Americanisms or French ways. A rare example of true originality.

Song to a Seagull (also known as Joni Mitchell) is Joni Mitchell's 1968 debut album.
Mitchell would later note that the album is more a result of her love of classical
music than of folk, and this is evident through the thick, rich, and often unusual
harmonies, and the densely poetic lyrics of the album. This album was originally
released as Joni Mitchell because the LP album covers were printed incorrectly,
cutting off part of the "Song to a Seagull" title (spelled out by birds in flight).
The cut off as well as the publishers at Reprise Records not noticing the birds
spelled out the album name, caused the eponymous album title...

The Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir is an internationally renowned World
Music ensemble that performs modern arrangements of traditional melodies. It is most
recognized under their contribution to Marcel Cellier's Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares project.
First created as the Bulgarian State Radio and Television Female Vocal Choir in Bulgaria in
1952 by Georgi Boyadjiev, the choir is now under the direction of Dora Hristova.
Singers are chosen from country villages for the beauty and openness of their voices, and
they undergo extensive training in the unique, centuries-old singing style. Influenced by
Bulgaria's Thracian, Bulgarian, Ottoman and Byzantine history, their music is striking in its
use of diaphonic singing and distinctive timbre, as well as its modal scales and dissonant
harmonies (abundant second, seventh, and ninth intervals).

It is impossible to compile a single-disc greatest-hits compilation for Cat Stevens that will come close to satisfying all of his admirers. The Very Best of Cat Stevens is the fifth major attempt to do so and, like its predecessors, it is challenged by its subject's success. Remember Cat Stevens: The Ultimate Collection is the longest of the five (24 tracks) and may be the most comprehensive. But The Very Best of Cat Stevens , released just a year later, has several advantages that make it more appealing. To begin with, it is the only compilation to sequence chronologically songs from every one of Stevens ' albums, including the experimental Foreigner . It also contains the delightful folk creed "The Wind," which was a glaring omission from the so-called Ultimate Collection . Most significantly, it contains the previously unreleased "I've Got a Thing About Seeing My Grandson Grow Old." Stevens recorded a demo of the song during the Mona Bone Jakon sessions in 1970, but it never saw the light of day until it was remixed for this collection. Perhaps this was because it was considered too eccentric for public consumption, straddling the line between the hook-rich pop of Stevens ' '60s records and the groundbreaking folk-rock of his '70s efforts. If so, the public was vastly underestimated. The song is a buried treasure that fits in perfectly in the company of Stevens ' best work.
