Historia DISTRESS jest długa i podobna do setek innych zespołów. W 2003 roku czterech znajomych z różnych lokalnych punkowych składów postanowiło założyć nową kapelę, by grać jeszcze hałaśliwiej i agresywniej, niż do tej pory. Mimo upływu czasu oraz zmian w składzie dwa składniki pozostały niezmienne: oryginalny wokalista Alex i unikalne brzmienie, mieszanka szwedzkiego d-beatu i metalu sowicie polane alkoholem. W trakcie swojej działalności DISTRESS wystąpił u boku m.in. Napalm Death, Discharge, Antisect, Oi Polloi, Tragedy, Infekcja, Wolfbrigade, Warcollapse, Warcry oraz na festiwalach: Obscene Extreme, Play Fast Or Don't, More Noise For Life, Minimum Pop Fest, Svora Fest.

The story of DISTRESS is so long but this story is similar to hundreds of stories of other punk bands. Distress began in the distant past of the year of 2003 when the four guys from different local punk bands decided to start with new band to make more raw and aggressive noise. Times passed, line-up changed but two ingredients stay the same through times and situations: the original singer Alex’s voice and the band’s signature sound — Swedish style D-Beat mixed with touch of metal and gallons of booze.

DISTRESS shared stage with: Napalm Death, Discharge, Antisect, Oi Polloi, Tragedy, Warcry, Wheel Of Dharma, Infekcja, Visions Of War, Diskelma, Wolfbrigade, Warcollapse and plays on numerous festivals including: Obscene Extreme, Play Fast or Don't, More Noise For Life, Puntala Rock, Hygget, United Help Festival, Svora Fest, Minimum Pop Fest and hundreds of gigs mostly in DIY venues.
