...SIŁA I PIĘKNO MUZYKI TKWIĄ W JEJ RÓŻNORODNOŚCI
..::OPIS::..
Jedyny duży album załogi z Czech grającej powalający brutalny grind/death!

I met up with Michal (at least I think it was Michal) of Khaaranus Productions, and also drummer of this here outfit, at Brutal Assault Fest to get a promo of the recently released debut fullength by Rubufaso Mukufo. I had previously received promos of both splits the band had released, so I’ve kept track of their development. While I noticed some of their weirder tendencies on their split with Destructive Explosion of Anal Garland they’ve taken on an entirely different approach on ReMoLAB than I ever would’ve imagined.
There are still some traces of their earlier goregrind sound (well, quite a lot to be perfectly honest), but they’ve spaced out a bit, much like Cerebral Turbulency did before they called it quits. And that reference is also a rather big one since Rubufaso Mukufo originally arose from the remains of said band, so I suppose some similarities are to be expected. But nonetheless definitely not a lot… With this record the lads seemingly go in all kind of directions without any dictatorial leadership. While grindcore remains the actual core of their sound you’ll hear some gore, some hardcore, ultra-modern grind, technicality, low-fi metal and the generally degenerated Czech sound. It’s weird-as-hell, I tell you. One moment I think Nasum, the next I get a Dead Infection vibe only to be overridden by a Mexican goregrind touch, and suddenly it’s Pigsty all the way. While I can enjoy the weirdness of their spastic twists and turns there is one small nuisance; metalcore. On occasion the heavy-as-shit metallic sound, when drenching their minor hardcore influences, tends to sound a tad metalcore-ish (as displayed in Hatecore). A big no-no.
Where I really dug their earlier releases, which were more purely gore/grind oriented, I have a hard time keeping track of what’s going on here. I’ve heard way more spastic grind releases, but ReMoLAB is definitely not for the meek. When they blast for real it’s metallic and sweet, when they truly gurgle and growl I love it. But when they space out with too unorthodox drum patterns, riffing and freaky vocals I don’t know what to think. It’s by no means bad; it’s just way too weird for me. The release definitely fits in with the Khaaranus roster.
