Fabuła serialu "Yellowstone" skupia się na rodzinie Duttonów, która sprawuje kontrolę nad rozległym ranczem graniczącym z rezerwatem Indian, terenami deweloperów i parkiem narodowym Yellowstone. Każda za stron jest zainteresowana ziemią, której właścicielem jest John Dutton (Kevin Costner). Ten jednak zamierza za wszelką cenę bronić swojego dziedzictwa, wraz z pomocą swojej bezwzględnej córki Beth (Kelly Reilly) oraz trzech synów, Jamiego (Wes Bentley), Kayce’ego (Luke Grimes) i Lee (Dave Annable).
