CCleaner is an extensive application that helps keep the system clean, which will result in a partial increase in the speed of the computer, regaining space on the hard drive, and making it easier to work with a tidy system.

By cleaning the computer, the program will perform many very simple actions that we could do ourselves, such as emptying the recycle bin, deleting temporary files, cleaning the clipboard, memory dumps, Windows log files, user history, removing non-working shortcuts from the start menu and the desktop. However, doing it yourself will take a long time, but the program will do it all in a flash.

CCleaner can also clean non-system applications, e.g. it will clean web browsers by deleting the cache, history, saved form information, etc. In addition, the application can work with many other programs by deleting unnecessary temporary files and the list of recently opened files, which will allow protect our privacy. The most famous supported applications include: MS Office, Avast, Adobe Reader and Winamp. It is also worth mentioning the CCEnhancer add-on, which adds support for over 450 new applications, thus significantly expanding the capabilities of CCleaner.

A very important functionality that also speeds up the system's operation is the optimization of the registry, i.e. deleting all incorrect entries related to, among others: with missing DLLs, unused file extensions, outdated software and autostart of already deleted programs. The operation of cleaning the registry is not completely safe and may sometimes cause system instability, so before editing the registry, CCleaner makes a copy of it and saves it on disk in a safe place. Thanks to this, in case of problems, we can easily return to the state before the changes.

Another option is the program removal manager. Here it is definitely more functional than the manager built into Windows. First of all, we can remove an entry from the list without uninstalling the program (which can be useful if entries of already deleted programs remain) and change the name of the entry.

The application also allows us to view files that start with Windows and manage them (disabling, enabling or completely deleting them from the list). Other tools offered include the option of viewing created system restore points and deleting unnecessary ones, which will save disk space.

Additionally, the disk erasing option is worth attention, as it allows you to overwrite the disk space in such a way that it is impossible to restore old files from it. We can erase only the free space or the entire selected hard drive.

The main advantages of CCleaner are a clear interface and the Polish language version, which allows the tool to be used even by novice users.
